No, do Phantom Liberty before you finish the main quest.
The main story for me was one of the best things I've ever played. Never played the DLC tho.

There's some spoiler reasons I won't get into involving the main story. But Phentom Liberty does open up a new potential ending to the main quest, which is a big reason why you should finish it first.

If you finish the main game, you'll be thrown back to the game as it was before Nocturne Op55N1 (the point of no return). So it'll be like you haven't finished the game.

It is recommended by the developers to finish every quest before proceeding into act 3. It is also my recommendation to finish Phantom Liberty, before finishing the main game.

I don't like the main story of Phantom Liberty because it's no fun for stealthy netrunners. But you shouldn't wait too long to go to Dogtown (maybe Level 30), because there is some great equipment to get:

Skeleton-Cyberware Rara Avis (obtainable with Tier 3) simply adds up to 40% to your armor! That makes even the final boss fight against Adam Smasher quite easy, in particular in combination with Second Heart. I would never face Smasher without Rara Avis Tier 5.

And there is a fantastically overpowered Smartgun you can only buy in Dogtown called H-7 Warden. It's a brutal murder machine, and there is even one with an in-built silencer called Pizdets to find during a mission.

Phantom Liberty is perfectly fine for netrunners, even ones who crutch with stealth, you will just need to be able to handle a few fire fights. This isnt Dishonored, there isnt a 100% stealth route, you need to be a bit more flexible.

I wanted to say Deus Ex but even that game had forced boss battles, so Cyberpunk isnt even unique in that regard.

It's honestly better then the base game.

I wouldnt say it is better per say, but it is more condensed so you experience it at a much better pace.

The Aldecaldos and the stuff with Kerry I think is the best storytelling in the game. I did absolutely love the casino portion of the DLC, 10/10.

When you get to quest "Meet Hanako at Embers" lead to DLC area and start it. It's best moment for DLC right before main game end.

I would argue it is better to head to the DLC as soon as you are comfortable with it, it will unlock your Relic tree, you dont necessarily have to do the entire DLC in a single sitting.

Yes and no. You can (and in my opinion must) start the DLC after Pacifica.
This will open up the relic and allow you to have a much better/easier time on main story as well.

You can play the main story first then the DLC it's not a big deal. Majority of the players beat the game before the DLC ever even released.
