Confused about the DLC (no spoilers please)
I have just beaten the game. And now bought the DLC. But from what I see the DLC is storywise before the ending of the game? And it also adds a new ending-what? I don't really get how it works. I don't know if I should do the DLC with my character or not. I am really into the story of games, and playing them for it, especially the ones with choices. If I do one choice, then that choice remains canon in my story no matter what, but now I hear the DLC changes things-- adding new ending options and stuff? How should I see it then in my V's story? I think I should create new V.. only now I already know the outcomes of many choices.., and I don't know if I feel like spending another 70 hours into finishing everything again.

PL was designed to react to events in NC rather than the other way around. There is a new ending which, I believe, allows you to skip most or all of the main quests outside of the Voodoo Boys (the prereq to start PL).

Unless you want spoilers, I can't tell you much more than that.

So I'd recommend:

Start a new game.

Play how you normally play up until Act 2.

In Act 2, for the main quest, track down Evelyn first, do the Voodoo boys quest-line, and stop.

Just do the beginning of the PL quest and stop as soon as it's logical to do so.

Dog-Town should now be open.

Play the rest how ever you want to. There's many Night City quests that affect the PL side of things but to explain them would offer spoilers, so I'd recommend doing most of the main quests before really getting into the meat of the DLC if you wanna see reactions to your NC quests affect PL.

So there are many NC quests that affect the PL DLC, but how about viceversa? Does the DLC change anything? Did I miss anything in my original PT for not having played the DLC before doing everything else or is it perfect to just start the DLC exactly before the Hanako quest with no return (after having everything else done)? Because that's how I have the DLC started atm.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I understand, then doing the way I chose (after having everything done, right before the Hanako quest) is better. Will do this and see how it's going on. Really wish the DLC would have been a sequel to the game rather than this. I did some dumb choices in my ending.. believing there's a DLC after. T.T

its usually the side missions on the main game that affect something in PL
I dont think this is a spoiler but im gonna hide it just in case. for example a side mission called "Violence" on the main game can get you bonus iconic reward in the story of PL if youve completed that side mission in the main game.

soo if u ask me, id do the dlc on ur existing save think of it like "playing one ending and then go back to point of no return and try another endings"

IMO just do as much as you can of the main game and then head to Dogtown. Basically it's a major branch of the game toward 4 new endings...it pops up after you've done certain Main quests [Takemura, Panam, Judy]. If you're eager to get into it then it's understandable, but I would finish all the initial main character quests in the main game first. You can return to the main game anytime after the initial big quest of Phantom Liberty.
