AMD SMT On or Off?
I see that they have added the AMD SMT toggle in the game now, I have a Ryzen 5800X3D and I am really not sure whether it should stay On or Off or on Auto?

Any helpful tips?

Auto is supposed to enable it when the engine feels it's needed.

I toggled it to on with my 5700x.
Yet to see more than 50% average usage, typically mid 30s to mid 40, but finally balanced properly across all cores.
Yet to exceed 64c, very minimal CPU power increase.

Turn it on and take advantage of any gains it'll provide.

I'm running a 5950X. I set SMT to auto. Definitely not a scientific observation but it appears to help in more the more performance-demanding areas of the game and also helps to spread utilisation out across CPU cores.

Do you have a source for this claim? I don't think auto will allow the game to switch between on and off based off of your position in the game because manually changing the setting requires a game restart (as seen when adjusting the setting in game). So, if a game restart is REQUIRED when changing the setting, then a prompt to restart the game would pop up every time the auto setting makes a change from SMT to non-SMT, would it not?

I believe the "Auto" setting allows the game to choose On or Off definitively based on the processor that we have. I'm thinking higher core AMD processors will enable AMD SMT when set to Auto.

I disabled it in bios, because my 5800x3d starting to get very hot and fan is making loud noices. no increase in fps with on, so i decided to off this

I put it to on for my ryzen 1700x I feel like it helped and its satisfying to look at all your cores being used properly in task manager

I know it's late, but I'm just leaving this for someone trying to get the best performance from Cyberpunk while keeping the game looking awesome. I have 7800xt and 7800x3d, and Amd Smt ON is the way to go. It improves performance, at least on my specs. ( Hope I help someone looking for this topic in 2024 :))

From what I've seen from a few different reviews if you have a 6-8 core CPU leave it on if you have a 16+ core CPU turn it off.
Likely core count dependent, but my Ryzen 2600 benefited from it significantly. In fact, the biggest performance stability increase I've had was when I enabled it combined with Reflex set to "On with Boost Enabled" in the video options. Fewer load stutters in highly geometrically dense areas on my aging RTX 2070 system. And the Reflex setting, for some reason (not questioning it, just thankful lol) reduced TAA ghosting for me as well.

Definitely helped me, I have a Ryzen 5 5600x with 3080 and turning it on I immediately saw 30+ frames improved, no joke. It allowed me to enable RT for once and now I get a solid 50-70 l, steady 60s most of the time. Not worried about anything overheating, water cooled systems are worth the money.

you might need a better cooler if its getting too hot tbh, assuming re-pasting the CPU doesn't help.
I'm running a Scythe Fuma 2 Rev B on my 5900X and its doing pretty well inside my Fractal Torrent, no cooling issues.
You could also try getting a good AIO like an Arctic Liquid Freezer 3, assuming it'll fit in your case.

No he just needs to slap on -30 Negative curve in PBO and also 100 70 100 TDP settings, mine runs at 55-72C

On my 5800x, with it on, my CPU is at 95-100%. With it off, 40-70%. Heck, my CPU is more active than my 4070ti

-30 on all cores is not stable for everyone so recommending it is kind of wild. Shouldn't need to do any CO with a proper cooler.

SMT doesn't work for some amd chip so you need the smt fox mod on nexus. Got rid of my stutters on 5700x3D with high crowd density.
