What's up with Oda since 2.0 ?
I've always played this game on very hard. I've started a new very hard playthrough last week after the release of 2.0 update. I have now reached the Oda boss fight. And god what have they done ?? I'm level 35, level 20 intel tree, level 20 technical tree. I've maxed out the technical weapon tree, cyberware and quick hacks tree as well. I have a lot of armor (for my level) around 800.
For the most part the fight is alright it was like it used to be jumping around on the platforms doing dmg with my hacks and weapons bur everytime Oda uses his long range smart weapons I get instantly killed, like in less than a second. As soon as i hear the first shot being fired I'm dead. Even when I'm on the lower level with more cover the bullets goes through the walls. Is this a bug or a new balancing issue since 2.0 ?
I still managed to save before the mission so I can come back later with a higher level. But still, I already have level 5+ weapons and Cyberware. I feel like even if I come back after level 50 I'll get my ass handed to me again. Or maybe my build just sucks...

I haven't gotten to that point yet in the new update, but I heard Adam Smasher is also a really tough fight now too (AS HE SHOULD BE) so maybe they did a complete boss fight overhaul because they were too easy before.

If you level up, Oda will to.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Level Scaling.
Try to set game difficulty to easy.

I beat VH oda with a katana sand, 4 body 4 reflex 20 tech 20 cool 10 intel, the save was a stealth build, I just change the cyberdeck to sand, you just try to parry his melee, and when he switch to SMG, just stick to him and keep slash him. the DLC boss did much worse than oda.

ya me too. i get my ass handed to me whenever he use that stupid trace missile move. always one shot me. I am using a net runner build too. the way i fight him is using a smart shotgun and just hit and run and always stay behind covers and get ready to to hide whenever he start shooting. I think you wont have this problem if you get more armor.... maybe.

Ok it was probably a bug. I restarted the game and during the fight his bullets dealt significantly less dmg so I managed to beat him

Sounds nice, finally a challenge, *coughs and continues to play on only hard*.

For me the best and most accomplished boss in the game.
Not counting the expansion :)

Oda was still easy for me.

But wait for Adam Smasher...I mean even with an OP buid it will be like 15-20 minutes. Mostly from running around.

So aside from $ for cyberware & maybe buying gear that has armor.. what's the point in doing any side stuff?
There's side quests, NCPD scanners, cars falling from the sky, Cyberpsycos, Gigs, etc.. What's the point?

I stuck in close to him because I was using shotguns, he never really got a chance to do anything except for attempt melee attacks on me which did hurt like crazy but I outhealed his damage every time so I just kept slapping him then shooting him and did his healthbar in under a minute.

What exactly are you specced into? If you're using tech weapons with quickhacks like it sounds like then your best option would likely be to hide behind cover only popping out to cripple and weaken Oda with quickhacks while doing most of your damage via shooting at him with charged shots through the walls where his smart bullets can't get to you.

with how bullet spongy the enemies get on higher difficulties, why even bother?
i tried it on very hard and the opening mission tested my patience. I've never liked difficulty coming from tanky enemies. its just boring.

I was playing on normal difficulty and kicked oda's ass. I know it was only normal difficulty but I was kinda surprised how easy the fight was. Genuinely considering turning up the difficulty at this point. Personally I think even with the leveling scaling the games still pretty easy

it is, would rather both have high damage. So mistakes are punishing, but properly applying tactics have great benefits.

It would also diversify the builds as some are just too weak for the insane amount of enemies you could end up facing. Cool down makes it so you cant kill fast enough without the proper build.
yeah, I'm on a stealth/hacker build and level 44 at this point. not the best in slot stuff because that would require a ton of (boring) grind beforehand so I got my ass kicked on my prefered "hard difficulty level". two strikes with his Katana or one attack with his ranged ability.

Boss fights in a game that allows full stealth gameplay are not a good thing anyways. they patched "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" back in the days to make boss fights playable for stealth gamers but in CP2077 you have to always upgrade you'r non-stealth dps which sucks especially now that the game got npc level scaling.

This is definitely some kind of bug. I just had a good fight against Oda, but I died towards the end, damage felt perfectly fine though. But then as I restarted checkpoint, he started instantly killing me when he pulls out his smart weapons. Literally one shot from 400+ HP and nearly maxed out Armor at level 60.
