So I have to buy a $30 DLC....
To enjoy the $60 game I bought 3 years ago? $90 game that was disappointing from the start, hmmm. Seems like a real easy decision. No!

No, just ensure you install the v2.0 patch.

If you want extra content, then yes, you'll want to get the DLC.

This isnt the airport.... nobody cares about your departure.

The game is "fixed" for free, no DLC needed. At least get the facts right.

Your loss bro, LC is awesome. You could at least thank them for the free 2.0 update you paid nothing for. If you did not love Cyberpunk ever, well then you'll be a hard sell now even though it is an amazing game that came a long way. Either try 2.0 and see if it's worth it to you, or go stick your head in the sand.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in here about a game that did not meet your specific needs is just lame.

CDPR has done their best with patching and trying to deliver on a game that everyone will be happy about. The updates and 2.0 overhaul was obviously given to everyone for free, but I don't think it's unreasonable to think everyone should have to buy a major Expansion that the dev team worked hard on.

If you don't want to support that or think you've been scammed somehow, then you're certainly free to not buy it, or wait until you can get it for a discount price.

NO you don't have to in any way. Its a fully complete game without it.

Just like all the other entitled gamers out there. Not capable of getting facts straight. 2.0 is free but that would take more than 10 seconds of research to formulate the entitled gamer post op wrote.

Complete? It was complete before they removed a bunch of awesome stuff and replaced it with half-assed systems for 2.0.

Why would anyone want to thank them for an update that makes the game unrecognizable?

We got it the first thousand times you said it.

The DLC doesn't seem that good so far. If you didn't enjoy the game back then I doubt this DLC will change your mind.

another uninformed user. They even stated you can opt out of 2.0 if you want to stay on what was before.

The free Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 is now available!

It brings an overhaul to a number of gameplay mechanics and core game features (such as the police system and Perk trees) along with various fixes and improvements. These changes apply to the base game and are available to all players, free of charge. There's more to come on September 26th for owners of the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion!

You can continue playing from existing saves, but in order to have the best experience of the extensive changes we made, we recommend starting a new playthrough. Come September 26th, owners of Phantom Liberty will also have the option to jump straight into the story of the expansion by starting a new game with a new character that is already adequately leveled up.

Because changes to crucial game systems are extensive, we strongly recommend uninstalling pre-2.0 mods until the modding community has a chance to update them. Outdated mods can disrupt the experience in many ways and, in some situations, may cause critical errors.

Please note that the change in PC system requirements announced in June comes into effect with this update. It's especially important to note that running the game on an SSD is now a requirement. We advise against running the game on an HDD (or on a SD card on Steam Deck) due to lower bandwidth which may cause new content to not stream properly.

This doesn't necessarily mean that 2.0 won't launch using the previous minimum requirements. However, because it wasn't tested with them and we won't be actively supporting them, we cannot guarantee the game will work. We recommend considering an upgrade to ensure a more stable gaming experience. Should you want to or need to, you can also revert to the 1.63 version of the game, available on Steam. See how to do it here:

Why would you need to pay an extra $30 to enjoy the game you bought 3 years ago? Update 2.0 is free for everyone. The only thing behind that $30 paywall is a new area and some new content. Not a new game. If you don't enjoy 2.0 before paying the $30 for the DLC, I don't see how paying $30 for the DLC would make you enjoy the game any more.

You definitely don't have to buy.
