Why is rtx 3090 officially supported but not 3080 ti ?
The two are literally at the same level of performance beside the extra VRAM.

RT OD is not adding any new textures I don't see why you need more vram on older cards .

Works fine on a 3080

Are you talking about Path Tracing? My RTX 3070 8GB can enable path tracing just fine, just run the game.

RTX 3070 with Path Tracing enabled [1920x1080] 30~48fps.

Works just fine on RTX 3080ti and I'm not even using the latest drivers. Still on 528.49.

I tested on a 3080. With DLSS quality and native resolution at 1440p I can maintain a steady 30 FPS with everything else maxed out. Normally the with DLSS quality and psycho RT i get between 50 and 70 FPS

Ray tracing definitely requires additional VRAM...

3070
5800x3D
32gb

highest settings, pt ON

37.81fps in benchmark... not a single stutter not even a tiny one. Perfect sync and frametime.

Goes above 50 outside, ps 1440p dlssp

*Hopefully this will end much of the talk about vram, and help people learn that bandwidth is much more important.

works on radeon 6900xt with ryzen 5950x though the framerate is only 19 fps at 1080p with fsr on quality

As usual amd gpu got stuck on ray tracing, running 50-70 fps with 1440P DLSS performance on a 3080, totally playable with Path-tracing.

Define fine, I am not getting "fine" fps

40+fps is fine, falls in my monitors VRR window.
It's not a fast paced game, so 60+ isn't needed IMO.

Your milage may vary.

But there's basically no difference in VRAM usage between the regular RT and RT Overdrive, from my testing.

I watched somebody who has a 40 series card turn on pathtracing and they got a warning that I have never gotten before - saying that it requries at least a 4070 ti or a 3090.

I have a 3080ti.

I can turn it on and it looks legit, but I do not get that same warning. I am going to snap some pictures and I'll share this later to see if we can actually find out if there's a difference.

Okay, I am really surprised by this.
I have 3080 ti.
With psycho and ultra everything, and yes pathtracing, I can get between 65 and 95 fps, realisitically, it falls between 70-85, and this is with DLSS at quality at 1440.
Maybe it's your CPU bottleneck, but I wouldn't have expected such a gap.

Without DLSS, i run at 30 fps.

Anything you think could cause this? What's your CPU?

Using the ingame benchmark for obvious reasons, with the obvious caveats to it.
3080ti, 1440p, 980 pro Nvme - note the ageing CPU (5600x @4.7ghz) and other weak point currently of only 16gb RAM (fast as it is).
Settings are maxed out but using DLSS.
