Mods to download before playing - 10.09.2023
Hello, I was one of the person who pre-ordered this game and once I finished the story but there were lots of issues like slutterings, game breaking bugs etc in that time. Now I see the game is in good shape and I want to give this game a second chance. But before start playing again I just wanted to ask you all about which mods should I donwload to this game to increase my enjoyment. Any help from any of you, I welcome.

Right now you would be better off waiting until after the upcoming patch before modding. The new patch will change things a lot and will also likely break many mods. And since the new patch is required for the expansion it will be out on or before the 26th of September.

Over 800 mods with two collections, only minor glitches, and looks great.
Welcome to Night City, and City of Dreams Vol.2.

Right now you do not want any mods at all. This is day 90 since they announced the new system requirements for 2.0 so any time between now and the release of Phantom Liberty a huge update is going to take place. It is guaranteed to break most, if not all, mods currently available.

And yes, I know I just basically repeated with NorthernDavid already replied. It's that important to understand.

I wouldn't do any extensive modding but anything that doesn't require an extensive list of requirements is probably fine, stuff like the E3 2018 LUT and ReShade for example where you just drop it in, archive mods that don't require ArchiveXL or anything and once again you can just drop in and run.
That way when Patch 2.0 drops you can just pull them right back out and run the game fine.

This is the 10th, it doesn't even release for two weeks, I can get in a lot of leveling before that, and the mods will be a short step behind.

First 2 play throughs were vanilla, and no arguments about it being a great time. Collections are a nice edition, if you prefer.

A YouTuber named Last Known Meal put out a video a month or two ago listing what he considered to be the most important basic mods for the game. I disagree with a few, but mostly he's bang on. Foundation mods like Cyber Engine Tweaks and Red4EXT are musts. He also suggests the order they ought to be installed in. Otherwise, just go to Nexusmods.com and look at the Top Files and Most Endorsed listings.

That being said, it could be weeks after Patch 1.7 drops before any of these mods are up and running. Doubtless there will be news here about what mods _will_ run....some of the simpler .archive and REDmods may be okay, but there are no guarantees. I wouldn't bother with modding right now unless you are prepared to have your game blow up as soon as you start it under 1.7.
