You get an Iconic Pistol from Corpo that is just okay, and Streetkid gets a gaudy looking knockoff SAMURAI Jacket. That's it as far as I know.

Really the paths are for roleplaying, none of the exclusive rewards are particularly good compared to stuff available top everyone.

idk i rly love the nomad starter car. think its the only good choice imo then. ive also started to drive in first person only. makes almost every vehicle more drivable. and u can zip through traffic faster and easier

I always end up doing the right thing and giving the car to its new owner, but I puck Nomad because to me at least it flows better, Street Kid V doesn't seem like a NC resident and Corpo doesn't act like a corpo in game.

There are no benefits. it's roleplay. even the dialogue choices mean nothing.

V's not a corpo, though, he/she's a disillusioned corpo, who had their life ripped from them as a way of teaching them a lesson... lore-wise they should be the most murderous one, the least compassionate one, 1st being hey you're an ex-corpo, and 2nd HOW DARE YOU wrong me!?!? So when you want the 100% bodycount run, even not sparing cyberpsychosis sufferers, sparing literally not a single person, corpo bloodbath makes most sense.

Nothing that actually matters.
Even the choices in dialogs are pretty irrelevant.

I just use it to make weapon choices make more sense.

Ex... Doesnt make sense for a Nomad to be proficient in use of the Katana and monowire. Thats fits more with Arasaka Corpo.

There are some subtle changes that sometimes get overlooked. For instance, in the Gimme Danger mission, if you're on the Corpo lifepath and scan the guard, you get an additional non-violent optional way into the facility you don't otherwise have. Among other things. But those are minor variations, as others said, largely for roleplay purposes.

I'm not sure I'd agree given that skills come on chips and Cyberpunk tends to have a Japanese flavor woven into the genre as a whole (the few modern Cyberpunk settings that moved away from that just felt weird).

Yet all the enemies who use Katanas are Japanese. And all the Iconic Katanas are connected to Japanese people.

- Satori- Saburo Araska
- Tsumetogi- Owed by Hiromi Sato
- Scapel- owned by Haruyohsi Nishikaya
- Jinchu Maru- Owned by Sandayu Oda and Goro Takamura.
- Cocktail Stick- found in a club owned by Tyger Claws.
- Byakko- Owned by Wakako Okada
Etc.

Just doesnt make story sense (for me) for a non Japanese person to wield a Katana. And it makes even less sense for a street kid or Nomad to wield one when Arasaka trains and uses real ninjas.

In on flipside I think its weird for Corpos to use Revolvers. I see them as a smart or tech weapon types.

Yeah, that's a very good point, but to me at least the fact that V is rewarded katanas implies it's not as exclusive as the game drops makes it. I dunno, to me at least part of the cyberpunk genre is the 1980s "Japan Supremist" fears.

But then again my Nomad Valerie typically wears nomad...ish clothes and uses the Russian tech "revolver" (getting thrown back ten feet is annoying) and a tech sniper as her primary weapons backed up with a either a power shotty or smart smg and guerrilla arms, so take it for what's it's worth. 😉

Really no difference in the long run. I do agree with 5ean5ean as I base my builds around background stereotypes. I favor Corpo dialog options because it seems to make V a tad more competent at times.

I could see using katanas out of spite to mock Arasaka. Like how I had one character who wore an Arasaka hazmat suit. Just to let Arasaka know that it's personal.

Nothing really matters, anyone can see. Nothing really matters to meeeeee....er the game. It's all very surface level, a bit of flavor text and some items that don't change anything. Which is a shame because life paths that were significantly difference would of really added to the replayability of the game. But it seems to be one of many things that got the axe before release.
