dunno if it'll work for everyone though depending on their hardware.
That said, once they spawn in now, they are at least persistent. That's the result of a recent update. It used to be that if you looked away from them and back at them, they'd despawn and entirely new models would spawn in.
But yeah, this isn't a game where every NPC is a unique, named entity with its own schedule and inventory. It's essentially the same as in TW3, where the crowd simulation (other than unique named NPCs for quest purposes) were minimally interactive fodder milling around. They're there for atmosphere mainly.
Naw, it's far more obvious in this game. NPCs with straight up entire wardrobe duplication. I've seen THREE next to each other with the exact same look. It's incredibly immersion-breaking. And a bizarre choice. They couldn't have randomized clothing? The game has raytracing but selecting outfits from a random pool was too much? Gimme a break
That's what happens when you turn it on more copys.
Please note that I haven't encountered that many duplicate NPCs since I installed the game in 2020!! I turned off HDD mode but the problem is not solved. I hope CD PROJEKT RED will actually do something to fix it. Yes, this is something that really needs to be fixed.
