PUT MONOWIRE BACK IN COOL
This is stupid having both Monowire and Matis blades under blades, Monowire is obviously a stealth weapon and it should be tied to the stealth tree. I have no idea why they changed it. >:[
I can't even find a mod to put it how it should be.....

any advice on getting buffs to the monowire without having to waste too many skill points?
I like to build Stealth/Quick Hacks/Sniping/Monowire (i like tech weapons, but i guess i can switch to handguns/rifles?)

Any suggestions on builds to fit my play style would be appreciated, I always felt like they kind of had too many perks and feels like I forget the the first ones I read as soon as i read the last ones.

thanks, in advance =)

Monowire remains largely unifinished because as you put it it was supposed to be a stealth weapon, currently it's all but that.

Originally it was supposed to have much more functionality as did mantis blades, for example at one point they showcased mantis blades' wall climbing etc. I wouldn't be suprised if at one point they considered monowired to be used as grappling hooks.

Each of these upgrades was supposed to change the way you play the game, so now they are just kind of bunched up in weapons territory rather than being sidearms and utility gear.

If you really want to make use of all equipment as combat useful, look into realistic combat overhaul as it makws everything useful.

Is that on nexus mods? I think I saw it but it's on hold while they upgrade to 1.5, i think? Or is it in steam workshop?

Nexus mods, though be aware that it can make certain boss fights a breeze, perhaps look into weapon rebalances as well.

Honestly, I just want them to work like in William Gibson's short story, Johnny Mnemonic, IIRC, is where they basically stole the idea from, except it was hidden in his thumb, it was always meant to be a deadly assassins weapon, I think how it works, in essence, is fine, it charges up for one of two good high damage attacks, then needs to recharge, unlike the constantly dps of the Mantis blades, like that makes perfect sense, I just think its silly they took it out of cool.

Monowire was based off a character from the movie Johnny Mnemonic, where it was used as a weapon. It was considered at one point to be a distance hacking tool (before remote quickhacks), but that was no longer necessary. Now it functions exactly as its source material.

i'm looking at 2 differnt realistic combat overhauls and neither have anything to do with monowire, just making you die faster? I'm not trying to die everytime trash mobs land a headshot, lol

but thanks for taking the time to respond, maybe include the mod number at the end of the URL so i know im looking at the right one?

that movie, is based (VERY LOOSELY I may add) on a short story, of the same name.
Basically everything in CyberPunk is lifted from William Gibsons "Neuromancer", other various short stories by him (including Johnny M) as well as, SnowCrash by Neal Stephenson, which are the 2 books that basically started the entire CyberPunk genre.

Read a book, my dude.

They are rebalance mods - https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/1908

You might be dying a lot more but you can expect the monowire to slash the enemy's heads a lot more. If you were to slot the basic armor upgrade like 150 more armor, you'll be just as tanky as you are in base game, something i personally avoid but might make it more enjoyable for you.

There's also this if the rest of the game is fine for you, I've used it briefly but the full rebalance version before 1.5;
https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2874

Though keep in mind that this one isn't updated to the new update, might wanna keep an eye on that full rebalance patch.

little history for you . first they didnt steal anything. second they got "mono wire " from the the original source material they use for most the game . the 1990 PnP Cyberpunk 2020 game . Here is how it was described in the game :
Slice N' Dice: Mono-filament wire spool
mounted in end of one finger, with a weighted,
false fingernail to give it balance and swing.
Monomolecular wire will cut through almost
any organic material

Johnny Mnemonic was written by WIlliam Gibson in 1981.

The movie was based on a Gibson short story by the same name. And the weapon in the pen and paper was likely inspired by said short story.

How do you stealth a glowing wire? Not to say that can't be in the cool perk, but a stealth weapon. I'm just not seeing it.

Perhaps if it weren't glowing.

If that's the route you wanna go, I reckon glowing clothing would be quite easy to spot in the dark but it is what it is. Style over substance.

Haha true. To be fair though, none of my gear is glowing.
