Desktop resolution and active signal resolution
I was messing around with resolution, trying to fix my fps. I noticed that the ingame resolution setting barely did anything toward increasing fps. I checked my monitor's active signal resolution and it was 1920-1080 while the game resolution was set for 1280-720.

Googled a bit, there's a section in Windows under settings/system/display/"display adaptor properties for display 1"/"list all modes". There you can set the active signal resolution. Which actually matches the selected resolution, ingame.

Without Vsync i'm 300 fps, at 1280-720, low settings. With the game at 1280-720 and the desktop at 1920-1080 i would get 30-60fps spinning around.

UserBenchmarks: Game 47%, Desk 83%, Work 41%
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X - 77.2%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060-3GB - 52.6%
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB - 107.4%
RAM: Crucial CT4G4DFS824A.C8FHP 2x4GB - 90.3%
MBD: Asrock AB350M-HDV

resolution isn't gonna matter much. the most demanding settings are things like screen space reflections, volumetric fog, ambient occlusion, etc.

and of course ray tracing but that doesn't apply to your setup.

While those settings do have a large impact, that isn't strictly speaking true. The number of pixel calculations as determined by resolution has an enormous impact on frame buffer utilization. Dropping from 1080p to 720p as they did has a theoretical reduction of frame buffer utilization of 1.5 times or more, all things being equal (of course in reality this depends on many other factors and isn't that simple - and the fact that their fps increased by 5x suggests they had a bottleneck somewhere else... probably in their software environment, which could mean the game or something else going on with their system ...since nothing about their hardware suggests a bottleneck that large, and lowering resolution doesn't do much to ameliorate CPU bottlenecks.)

Generally speaking, resolution is one of the largest user-controllable impacts on performance. And note that they said they were already playing on low settings. Given their specs I would actually recommend, now that they're getting improved performance at reduced resolutions, playing on Medium (since their RAM is below recommended) or even a mixture of Medium and High presets since they exceed the recommended specs for that. Especially if they're comfortable playing at such a low resolution.

I don't really know the details of the CP77 performances. What you could try is the windows thing i pointed out.

Just head for display, open advanced settings, see if the resolution matches active signal resolution.

CP77 doesn't really look at the ingame resolution. Not as much as the ASR. I mean it's worth a shot, right? Worst case scenario you put it back.

EDIT: Assuming you want to compromise a bit of resolution for FPS.

So, settings on medium, res 1280-720, i get around 50fps. Low i get 60, solid.

Point is, the resolution didn't drop if lowered ingame, it stays at what windows resolution was set. My monitor confirms. Since this is a bit screwed up, it should be the peak of the iceberg...

I mean i don't expect people with the monster machines to lower their resolutions. Some other people might want to do that and i think fixing this might help everyone.

It's like a bug at point blank or something.

IF your resolution in game does not change when you change it in the option settings for Cyberpunk and remains the same resolution as setup under windows display settings then something is definitely wrong with your game setup or your windows setup.

I can change my resolution in game up or down and the game will display in whatever resolution i select regardless of what I have it set at under windows.

are you playing in exclusive fullscreen?

I query my monitor while playing CP77. It says it's running 1080p while it's set to 1280-720, ingame.
