Cyberpunk: Single Player MMO with a brilliant story.
The world of Cyberpunk 2077 is massive. travelling from the edge of Night City, to the border of the Badlands, I find myself filled with endless fun and sightseeing.

When it comes to Cyberpunk, the first thing that shines is the story. The amazing character depth, excellent voice acting, and the animations to give life in visual form. In interacting with these NPCs, your decisions change the world around you. Some changes are small, impacting relationships or behavior, while others change entire factions and V's personal story possibilities. Without getting into spoilers, I just did a quest that changed many of the billboards throughout Night City, and this was not the first quest to do that. Watching the news also shows how the world is changed beyond what you can see by exploring Night City.

The second thing that comes to mind about Cyberpunk 2077 is the graphics. The details are so numerous, that it makes it a shame to just look at the big picture. I find the hundreds of advertisements, hundreds of different vehicles, hundreds of different styles of characters and outfits and so much more, just builds to an experience that has been unique and enjoyable. In taking it in, I find myself thinking of the line from Oliver Twist, "Please sir, can I have some more." When exploring, I continue to kick on those locked doors that I find, in hopes that more does find its way into Night City.

Thirdly, my mind goes to the game play. The skills and abilities of V are unique and very enjoyable. I have already experimented with several variant styles, and am finding my niche. Stealth is above and beyond in Cyberpunk 2077. I can put points accumulated from leveling, into fine tuning the desired talents of V, making V an invisible assailant that strikes from the shadows. Combined with cybernetic skills, V can utilize many multiple styles to approach problems along the way. This keeps the game play from becoming stale.

Nothing in life is perfect, however, and I am reminded of something that I still hold hope for in the future. Cyberpunk 2077 is immense and has countless details that give it life and make it a unique and enjoyable experience. But it still has so much more that is behind locked doors. As with any software, there are bugs. The bigger the program, the more the bugs. Continuation of the story, which is my favorite part of Cyberpunk 2077, is my biggest hope. May the story of V not end here, and we get to see so much more in the Cyberpunk 2077 world (and space).

While I do agree with most of what you wrote... Single Player MMO is an oxymoron

That is the point. I feel like I am playing in an MMO world that is catered to me.

Brilliant story ? What game are we talking about ? Cyberpunk 2077 ?

It's more than just bugs though. I needed a user here to inform me that a decent portion of the skills that I had been investing points into either don't work as intended, or don't work period.

I can live with the random car falling through the map, and random strange NPC response, even the subtitles that won't disappear until I reload a save, or the relic malfunction glitch affect staying on my screen until I reload (it's embarrassing how long it took me to realise this wasn't working as intended).

The skills not working is a big deal they need to fix as soon as possible.

Yes. This game has a brilliant story, but you only get a fraction of it by doing the main quest line. Most of the story and life of Cyberpunk 2077 is in the side quests, shards, conversations and relationships. As you can see from my other game reviews, I rate heavily based on the story and ability to deliver it.

I have not had this problem. I know some people are making claims that are not completely true, because they wanted the game to be something it is not. Many have debunked this person and his copy and pasted arguments. I have had three distinctly different play styles and so far, the skills seem to all be working. I just beat the game a third play though, finally doing the secret ending, which I am hoping is canon. This is my favorite ending of the 8 variants I have experienced.

I do believe the skills can be tweaked, but I have not noticed any skills that are not working. I will gladly test any that you believe are broken.

The police aspect is a problem for me, but not a major one as it is to others. Regardless, it is a problem.

The minimap size is fine on foot, but in the vehicles, it should alter based on speed, or just be more zoomed out. Completely agree that this needs attention.

I'm not much for the story. I liked the side quests who had climbing and jumping. Platform where you could drop down and die if you missed the platform, then I already know for some or most quests you only need strength to unlock quick paths. The one by the full metal monk where you have to climb broken stairways is another platform sidequest.

And the other with stealing documents at a hotel.

That is a fun quest. Be sure to go back to them later for the finishing part of that. While there are no markers in many cases, the story is not over so suddenly. I stumbled into a few continuations, and then realized what was happening. I have since been revisiting all of my previous quests and locations, and finding it has changed, or more is to be done, discussed, rewarded from previous quests.

In my opinion one of the main issues is that the majority of the "who knows what you may find" markers turn out to be just filler gigs with one shard of story (that most people wont read).

I distinctly remember being amused when I found the burning crotch man. And then the next five markers were either cyberpsychos or random gigs and my enjoyment just dropped like a stone as a result. Some of the gigs were interesting, like the son and dad BD editing basement, but most were just steal a thing or kill a dude.

I think the game would have much more of a positive reception if most of the gigs actually had a story that isn't just a call from fixer, message and a shard. Side missions and also the main quest show that CDPR has the ability to tell great stories in this setting, but the sheer amount of filler gigs and ncpd stuff dilutes the overall experience too much.

I have to agree with your assessment, you have a knack of getting it right when pinning specifics of this game. It's good to read some positivity in a sea of negativity for a change.

I've not tested it myself, just avoided the skills that were the subject of the topic, and luckily didn't affect my playstyle. If they all work that's great (for me too, will probably make use in my second playthrough)
I agree. The game is far from perfect, there are bugs, there are improvements I'd like to see made, and CDPR does bear responsibility for certain actions they undertook during development and launch. But in terms of the game itself, I'd have to lie in order to say I don't love it. I waited until I was on my third playthrough to review it finally, as I wanted to be sure my feelings about it didn't dramatically change or wane. But I feel like I have a good enough number of hours with it now to feel settled in my opinions of it.
