Why is there no China town in the game but instead a "Japan town"
Do you think that is kind of strange or peculiar, have you ever seen or heard that before? from everything I have ever known or experienced, it is always "china town" not "Japan town" do you think these polish game developers CDPR are just like huge racists or really trying to push the boundaries of what is socio and politically correct somehow and be at the same time really "edgy" to top it all off?

I was just stunned and shocked by this, surely it is like the equivalent of "black face" or something, there doesn't need to be a distinction startling like this to be made especially in a game that is set in the year 2077, what is that supposed to imply?

Huh? There literally is a district in Watson called "Little China".

Edit: Northwest of Japan Town is Kabuki and west of that is Little China.

So you think in the future that all boundaries borders and distinctions will be erased or cease to somehow exist? don't you think that's a big and seemingly huge deal that even in video games now we have entire districts dedicated to completely foreign locations and countries or nations?

I am not baiting at all, I was just seriously taken back and startled by this, I was like "huh" I couldn't believe that there was a "Japan town" in the game instead of China, that was just crazy to me I can't get over it, it just made me feel so many strange feelings all at once.

This. Vallari is correct. Please look at the map to find this area if you are interested.

I don't understand. Because "Chinatown" exists in real life, a "Japan Town" can't exist in a fiction city in a fictional setting, set 50+ years in the future?

Wut?

Was just answering to your question why there isn't one (and there is).

I don't see how a post-apocalytic fictional city based on existing table top lore has anything to do with how "things should be".

It's based on 1980's cyberpunk. In the 1980's it was Japan that was pretty much cutting edge technology-wise. In this time line, they become the ascendant corporate culture.

There's your answer.

This, the fact OP thinks devs are racist due to some fictional piece of work truly shows how little then understand the work of "fiction".

There is some backlore based on the table top version of this game. The game lore is directly connected to the table top version of the game. This is why chinatown is smaller in the game than japantown. I suggest if your interested in this, please google cyberpunk lore. There are many great sites on the internet that talk about the backlore of cyberpunk. It would help clear up things like this in the game, and why there are so few animals and hardly no birds.

Not only that. But the game has different areas. Much like the globe has different countries. But I don't see Eskimo's whinging on the forums.

I honestly couldn't stand how the voodoo boys were depicted they are like the only black people in the game and they can't speak proper english are really closed off aloof and basically try to like give you brain damage two times, it seems like virtually the main character is given head trauma or injuries on a constant basis.

Well the creator of the universe is a black man and he made the Voodoo boys and based them off of Haitians, so it's not racist.
