Even if the game allowed you to use Raytracing you likely wouldn't be able to run it at a bearable framerate.
should be obvious since it has gtx and not rtx in the name.
before someone retorts with my pc can handle it just fine. you need to look at the data. even if you aren't hitching your pc is working too hard for the task it is doing. this can and will shorten the life of a gpu. end of rant. Hope that helps!
raytracing options are entirely optional even in games that support it. don't like it, don't use it.
can one say they are boycotting it if it is there but they never use it? That's what i meant. i feel like you knew that already though.

The 1060 6GB is listed under 1080p High presets without ray tracing.
That wouldn't exactly be a boycott, per se. It would just be refraining from using it. If I buy an assorted bag of candies but refrain from eating one of the varieties in the package, I haven't boycotted the candy maker.
You can informally use the term in this way if you want, but generally speaking a boycott is a means of social and/or commercial pressure wherein you withhold your financial, social, user base, or other direct support from a company, organization, person, or other entity, with the goal of creating some impetus for them to change their behavior. The goal is to bring about change, not just to declare, "I'm not using this feature."
nVidia doesn't care if you use ray tracing or DLSS on their GPUs or not unless it creates some sort of pressure on them. They only care if people aren't purchasing their products. Since AMD are now incorporating RT hardware acceleration into their GPUs as well, you can't avoid it by going with their competitor either. And with RDNA 2 now being part of the next gen consoles' architecture, it's only going to become more ubiquitous and standard over time.
