What's the point in fixers if everyone keeps contacting me about new jobs any way?
I'm playing through the game and mostly doing the story, but I went back to some side jobs as they've been filling up since people keep contacting me about jobs.

Either its a job or someone wants to sell me a vehicle...

Any way I did a side job and I had zero idea what was going on because I'd been contacted about it ages ago.

It also doesn't help that most of the 'information' in the quest is vague and of little clue of what the hell is going on.

What's the point in fixers if people are just gonna contact me and clog up my quest list?

I think the pen and paper version of the game was a lot more about planing and putting together a team, working out differences, finding gear and what not for a team. Then doing the missions. The fixer was likely the character that the dungeon master or story teller or w/e they called it played during the set up portion of the tabletop adventures.

In 2077 game, it's pretty much all solo work. But this is first Cyberpunk game, maybe the games will get a lot more involved and fixers will matter. The gangs and corps didn't seem to matter much in this one too. Like not enough politics to not mess with one and all.

FIxers' jobs are gigs in the game. If you have no idea what's the long time ago call about, I recommend you to read the message fixer sent you. Usually these messages are not short and contain enough information. Of course, some information won't be given by fixers as they have their own reason, you'd better explore the whole truth by yourself when doing the gigs.

mostly correct, they talk about it partly in the game, the idea is a fixing knows the people with the jobs and to the client they know the people to get the job done, it also gives both sides a middle man to hold accountable if things go wrong (how many times do you need a team to do a one of blow up a store, but knowing a guy that can get stuff like that done is nice vs how offer does one person want large crimes done, not enough to pay all the bills )

"another settlement has sent word that they need out help, I'll mark it on your map." That's what i said to myself every time a fixer came on my hud. They give out Preston Garvey vibes sometimes.

It's sad that the game only had 1 heist. Totally loved the squad of TBug, Dex, Jackie and V.
For real. Those are the characters i wanted to get to know, not digital keanu reeves

Unlike Preston Garvey, fixers will eventually run out of missions.

Fixers have competition, and they have to work hard to stay in business.

They could always offer recycled missions.

one you reach 'the point of no return" and you've completed all street crime quests, you should be able to reset them all, like you can do in the Crackdown series but you can buff the enemies so they're a bit of a more challenge.

Go into the messages menu in your journal. You'll usually find lengthy messages from fixers about the specific jobs, which flesh out what the basic journal quest entry says, from what they said before. (They get added to as you reply to them during and after missions as well.)

Fixers pass your name around.
