You lost me at Witcher 3 is no masterpiece. It most certainly is. Opinions are, of course, subjective, however yours is in a rather small minority. I didn't even finish the game, but I can recognize how great of a game it really is.
Yup. The only reason I don't replay The Witcher 3 more, is that I can't stand Geralt lol. But man, the writing in that game is sooooooo good (Cyberpunk too though), music is great, characters are interesting and well-written and I also actually enjoyed the combat a lot, which for some reason get's a lot of hate, which I really don't understand...
Being a masterpiece doesn't mean it's absolutely without flaws.
This. I would call Vampire Bloodlines a masterpiece for its atmosphere and world-building alone and that game has more flaws than anything lol.
Like?
Can't think of that many tbh, only one maybe how all the gear except Witcher gear is practically trash loot, but apart from that?
Rogue*
I don't think any company deserves nor should they get a free pass. EA has been considered one of the worst companies in the entire US and made that list for years. Ubisoft similarly gets a lot of negative feedback... Similarly, Paradox is in the same boat, with known bug issues, then tons of DLC.
Given the above, I'm not sure why any company should be getting a free pass, let alone CDPR. If you make statements like 'we'll release it when it's ready', market the game the way they did, etc. - they deserved what they got. You reap what you sow.
Not going to be a blind consumer. That being said I think the game is OK, even great at times. But any negativity they rightfully brought on themselves.
Well and lots of people would disagree with you.
And I never had any game-breaking bugs, so I can't really say anything about that, but every game has bugs at release and afaik they fixed all the game-breaking ones.
And technical issues is hardly something people take into consideration when talking about a game being a masterpiece, unless the game is truly broken. I mean, again, I consider Bloodlines a masterpiece and that game has been getting fan-patches for over a decade, because it was so broken...
They even forgot to take out older logos from their games, that goes to show how little work was put into simple asset recycling.
But no, cyberpunk is worse.
Yeah right, you're not even fooling yourselves. Plain trolling.
It's so tiring seeing people call anyone with a different opinion a shill. You're just going to have to live with the fact that some people feel differently than you, instead of trying to shut down debate by calling people shills.
It is, actually. Because The Witcher 3 is almost universally accepted as a masterpiece. Opinions are, again, subjective, but yours is not a popular one.
