Multiple genres of music exist in this alternate version of reality that diverged from our own at some point in the TT RPG's lore. Just like in real life. Cyberpunk is not limited to vaporwave and synthwave or ambient EDM or industrial or whatever else people associate with it. Doesn't mean anyone has to like what's there, of course. But a ton of work went into creating fictional artists and songs in this game for worldbuilding purposes, along with fictional radio stations, radio hosts, news broadcasts, etc.

OP, that's a very subjective opinion (though i love Icarus myself). I personally love the music in Cyberpunk, with never fade away remix becoming one of my favorite tracks.

It may not be to your liking because it is heavily influenced by '80s and '90s music, which had a very distinctive sound.

It is supposed to be. Is why it is heard in the japanese cultural areas a lot. It is thematically appropriate.

Rest of the music is pretty fitting too? How doesnt it fit, is 90s punkish. What would be thematic? Initial D eurobeats?

So is Fallout 76 also supposed to be absolute garbage because "it fits with the setting"?
