V name is cringe sometimes
sometimes in serious dialogues when someone addresses V it feels cringe and silly what a stupid name to have. Sorry

It's a nickname, Choom... That should be pretty damn obvious.

To be honest the whole cyberpunk "genre" is kinda cringe, so it fits pretty well.

Probably so that they 1: does not shoehorn one into being an already named person (like geralt, i hated being geralt), but also 2: can't record an infinite number of nicknames/names for the char - so V was like a solution towards those two ends. we get more leeway in how we want to imagine _us_ being V, no matter style.

It's a vender-fluid nickname!

When I hear the name V, I think of it more as Vee during those serious dialogues.

Imagine 50 years from now, they make a game based on dystopian gen Z. Ppl will have strokes.
Don't forget the "Like" Generation. Dear heavens. Now that is some 1984 ♥♥♥♥ if I've ever seen anything.

Runners in the Cyberpunk world (as per the source material) tend to use aliases, as it's not wise to go around handing out your real name to people paying you to commit crimes. You think 'Rogue' is her real name? Or 'Adam Smasher'? Those were aliases that they became known for.

TIL respecting other people is dystopic.

Yeah, if anything a dystopian future will be a lot more mundane and less flashy.

Originally you could give him a first name but they make it less of a rpg as a whole
