Food: A burden or actually useful?
Ive yet to find a scenary where i need to drink something or eat something from my backpack. Is it perhaps worth to sell all the food then cuz it just weighs down on my inventory?

Yep food is a burden sell it all but maybe a couple of food/drinks then again, if you at all took the hp out of combat perk, you can just ignore food entirely.

The food is only a burden if you "Think" it's a burden so you have something else to complain about another "dislike" in the game..

Food is a burden though. Its cool as a world building tool, but since they all do the same thing, its not really a deep system. Its extremely wide but exteremely shallow as a gameplay mechanic. Different foods having different buffs (aka some giving you +1 to different stats) would have greatly changed the food landscape imo. But as it is now, its sorely lacking and is really compounded with the bad shop and management UI in the game. So its just a chore instead of fun.

I don't think food is "burden", but it is definitely rather useless. Its only worth is temporary buffs which are rather useless (e.g. any healing item will heal up you much faster than food regeneration buff). However, it has 0 weight, so you don't need to bother scrapping/selling it to keep weight in check. You can just ignore that tab.

cuz that aint nothing. I can admit to one thing, perhaps before those fist fights u can take some out of combat regen boosts i guess

+5% is literally not nothing lol.
depends on waht it is, i was reffering to 5% in health capacity boost, you wont even sustain one extra bullet with that small of a health cap increase. they need to boost some food bonuses in my opinion to make food more useful :fhsamurai:

It's a burden even selling it is laborious.

That's just a UI failure in itself. You should be able to click tons of items and do group sells or deconstructs imo.

Hit a sell key click on all the items you want to sell and then confirm. Same for deconstructing. Never understand how so many games have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Shop ui's in games.
its tiresome having to always select the quanitity youd like to sell with the help of a slider. should be like a "hold x to sell all" option. these simple things, i dont know why nobody at cdpr thought of or tried implementing this, its just 1+1=2 in my opinion

Rarely useful, imo.
A lot of people don't use food/drinks and accumulate a ton of it - I wonder if that had something to do with save files going above 8 MB and corrupting the save? (And yes, I know it's been patched, but still curious about it.)

My first 10 hours or so, I ignored consumables, since they had 0 weight, and gathered hundreds and hundreds of food/drink items. I didn't keep track of my save file size though, so I have no clue on it's effect (or lack of). Now, I routinely clean them out - will keep maybe a dozen food items.

Yes but those vendors are everywhere meaning you don't need to keep a bunch of it, you just buy and eat when the buff runs out where ever you are.

Oh sure - I stopped picking up food entirely on my second playthrough. It takes forever to turn it all into scrap.

it's good for crafting! All sodas and the cactus juice can be broken down into common and uncommon components. Like, it costs 10 eddys for a single Nicola, and it breaks down into 5 common and 2 uncommon components at base crafting level, which is worth 41 eurodollars total. so get that broken money until they patch it out

Eat and drink before combat. Makes it easier.
