why its using all 8GB of VRAM?
all 8GB VRAM of my 2080S is used, with 1440p VRAM usage up to 98% and 1080p 96%. on high settings with 3 ultras: volumetric lighting, fogs, and screen space. DLSS had to be balanced cuz if turns it off FPS drop to 25 instantly and GPU utilization shots up to 99% (which result temp of 68 Celsius maximum, yes i have aggressive fan curve and open chassis but still 68c constantly, and im not ok with it) or keep DLSS off but use internal resolution of 50%, but neither of those 2 options got an impact on VRAM usage. The only setting that made a difference (drop from 98% usage to a 93%...) is set resolution to 1280x960...

why it using all available VRAM? I never even dared to turn RTX on...

anyway to free up some VRAM? had to cap fps at 60 so GPU doesn't fry but now it's the VRAM limit... tbh the first game ever since me got my 2080S that using so much its ram omg...i know 3090 got a massive 24GB but.. why? what about us?

8GB 1070 here, highest I seen is about 70% VRAM, and thats at 1080p
I used the memory offset pool to set up this game, and enjoying the very little use of my GPU,
I can stream while playing this game.. 1080p 1070.. OC"d
Also temperatures are like 63 with an always on fan curve of 42%,
47% keeps me below 60';. Zotac life.

You have such a high end GPU but don't understand how RAM allocation works?
Also your GPU is fine up to 88c. and you're complaining when its 20c below it?
It will turbo and hover around a set temp, to whatever you have your power limit set to.

You're just here to complain about pointless stuff or anything else you need to know?

I thought GPU temperature limits depended on which card you use. Also, before it reaches it's limit there should be throttling to bring it back down. ~88c seems true at least in the case of new nvidia cards but it isn't a temperature you can apply to all cards afaik.

My own 2080S runs at ~68c.. so I have no idea what this guy is going on about.. literally the type that buys hardware and has to nitpick every little detail.. and obviously has no idea what they're talking about lol

thats idle temps wtf is going on with the pointless CDPR Hate Posts everyone trying to be "cool" and jump on the hate train ?

His main point is the usage of his Vram... In regards to Vram, if you noticing any graphical issues. When consuming all of your Vram at 1440p. Back it off down to 1080p and turn your anti alising down a bit if you're capping out on you Vram.
I run 1440p, ultra/rt.. hdr.. I don't hit 8gb of vram.. *Roughly ~6ish at best.. I reckon the guy needs to update his lemon drivers to latest version or something lol

its a question if you are using more than 1 Monitor, every additional monitor is decreasing your available VRAM. Also if you are using non standard resolutions, for ex 21:9 or 27:10. Also you should check your NVidia Settings if there is Upscaling activated. And just btw. my 2080Ti is reaching ~ 10500 GB in CP2077 @ 4K Ultra + HDR with RTX and DLSS, so WQHD using around 8 GB could be possible.

100c is the throttle temp for GPU;s anything below that is fine

if your gpu is hitting 100c.. it's dead.

yes, but for how long lol...so, no...

but OP sure got it cool enough with a stressed 2080s gpu at ~70°C....
its intended for up to ~80°C looong time

fake alarm here

single 16:9 1440p monitor, i got DSP off in NV panel (upscaling?), lastest GF exp game rdy driver only not the whole package, no changes made in gf exp.

Lol 68c is pretty much ok, wtf.

What do you mean by 'very little use of your GPU'?

Modern games often load as much as possible into VRAM to prevent assets such as textures from loading in slowly. That way everything is directly accessible. This is often done in open world games to prevent excessive pop-in or to prevent objects in the distance from loading in at lower quality levels, especially when driving.
less than 70% most of the time, and i have allocated the 8GB VRAM manually in the memory offset file... :/ nothing I can do about it any further,.

Low GPU usage isn't desirable. It either means there's a bottleneck somewhere or your graphics settings are lower than you need them to be. A GPU is made to have high utilization.

If you're talking about VRAM usage, that should likely max out as well, as it appears the game loads as much as possible into VRAM.
OBS STudio takes 30% at times when streaming, so , and I Vsync to try minimize things out of place, and put target frames in the bottom options of dynamic, whatever, at the bottom of graphics settings.

The GPU is overclocked and getting ♥♥♥♥ temperatures. but even RAM usage is around 3.4GB

Game is performing well, 60-70% CPU usage too,
i5 10400f,
mapped 8192MB,
GPU 8GB mapped in the memory offset,

there is only lag occassionally in stream.

There's limits. At 4k It only draws 8-9GB of VRAM.

The 2080S is not really good enough to run 1440p at 60 fps at ultra, without DLSS. Even without RT.

You can turn down some settings like Screen Space Reflections or Volemtric Fog/Clouds and that will give you a lot more fps.

68c is super low temps, I dunno why your worried about that. My GPU is running at 80-85c, which is fine too.

It is a good thing if a game tries to use as much VRAM as is available.

DLSS is supposed to dynamically alter the res/ai-scaling due to current load, and it would make sense it would go as far to full usage as possible - when in use, it would try to reach as much quality as possible while saving frames on adjusting the res accordingly.
