And again. Here is the fastest car in real life legal on roads today. https://youtu.be/Jexb79-U_7w
0-100km/h in less than 2 seconds... It speaks for itself. In the showcase of cars in the game the devs tried to make it seem like that in 3 seconds would be impressive.
I really havent seen any other arguments for them not existing rather than "the devs not being interested in doing it" which is kinda funny to me... Seeing all the other games ive seen with electric cars like GTA, or even post acopalyptic games like Death Stranding. Or even BeamNG simulator.
So yes I would like some real confirmation weither or not this will exist in the game. I don't want my hopes up. The car showcase episode of live wire was already just dissapointing really... I've never been impressed by noisy combustion engine sounds. But it is something I need to be able to live with living by a road frequently used by noisy cars. Will stil enjoy the game. But the cars just wont be any interesting to me. At least there is far far more to this game than just driving boring retrofuturistic combustion engine cars... Fictional fuel or not.
The name of that fuel doesnt even make much sense. "CHOOH2" which irl is a variant of formic acid so even ethanol would be a better option.
Nonetheless it would be hillarious if even GTA V would have electric super cars and low end cars, but a cyberpunk game would not...
Here's the problem with your thinking, you're thinking of this game as our world 50 years into the future, that's not what this game is at all. This game is based off an alternative reality where different events happened and different technologies exist.
https://cyberpunk.fandom.com/wiki/Timeline
So no. Please dont assume that I think this is in OUR timeline. Im thinking logically even if it would be a different timeline. Unless the timeline split was in before the first worldwar and electric engines of any kind along batteries where never invented. And problems with normal petrol never happened. All which is wrong. In this timeline there obviously are batteries, electric engines. And petrol existed and was replaced with a synthetic fuel. Which would only happen if there was a problem with normal petrol in the first place.
EVs definitely do exist in Cyberpunk lore. All those high-tech drones used by corporations and the government? EVs. The nice, sleek cars used by the corporations and the rich and powerful? EVs. So if there are No EVs in this game its more or less because the devs dont care or bother. Which is why I am asking if they are in the game or not...
Yeah I'm going to be on foot as much as possible and not use fast travel unless I have to
*sigh*
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that even if EVs are not included in the game, I could see that being a fairly easy mod to make and you'd probably be able to find a like minded modder to do it. Should be as simple as editing sound files and, if you like, vehicle stats. At this time, unless someone wants to correct me, I do not believe that any mention of EVs has been made thus far. For what it's worth, I hope you can find what you want either in the base game or through mods.
Edit: perhaps someone who has modded The Witcher 3 could give some insight on the RED ENGINE and how likely this possibility is?
But a cyberpunk game wont. Then I will be deeply dissapointed. And it would be hillarious.
I drive an EV in real life for many reasons. Performance and effeciency is one of them. My car easily beats every other petrol car in most roundabouts and X crossings for reasons. Reaction time is infinetily superior on EVs. Not just that but my car makes Synthwave sounds as engine sounds. If a Cyberpunk game is gonna care more about having boring combustion engine sounds then I wont have any fun with the vehicles of the game.
Does it matter? Well depending on what I wrote. It will decide wither or not I will find any interest in driving in this game. And just stick to playing the rest of the game knowing how hillarious it is that even a game about being a criminal in a satirical america is going to have EVs but not a cyberpunk game. Also people should stop pulling the Lore card. The devs have already done a lot of liberty on that in making this game. And EV's exist in lore. Several of my friends who have delved into the original lore have even seen multiple references to them. So I guess the biggest reasons for them not being in the game would be biased devs who dislike or dont care about EVs. But again. That would be hillarious knowing even GTA has them... I will stil have fun with the rest of the game. Just not it's vehicles...
Did you read anything? I never mentioned climate ever. I came with legit points unrelated to any climate based stuff... Nobody else did ever. Just because topic of EVs are brought up dont mean it has to do with climate. If I did please quote me on where. And if I did it would at most be one unrelated mention... And to your modding answer. The devs havent mentioned any will to add modding support.
