PS4 Pro or PC Version

So, I have just two options:

1) Do I buy it for the PS4 Pro
2) Do I buy it for PC (GTX 970+xeon 2131v3 which is a quadcore at 3,4ghz) PS: I know, super old.


Im gaming on a 2k monitor at 144hz. Upgrading my PC right now is definitely no option because of covid and all that jazz. So my question to all of ya is, which version of CP2077 would you pic if you were in my shoes?

easily on the PS4 Pro, it will be heavily optimized for that platform. How are you gaming with that set up at all @2k 144hz? i'd have thought even current titles you'd struggle to hit 1080p @60Hz. Why have an expensive monitor with those specs?

yeah you can't even utilze that monitor to it's potential with that build. i also have a 2560x1440p monitor with my 2080 ti and i feel like it is the sweet spot for this build. i definately think its time for you to upgrade your graphics card though, i purposley bought my new desktop for this game. don't worry about covid just buy it online its safe. but i would hate to expereince this game on console. first of all you have to play on a controller and its a first person shooter, mouse and keyboard would be wayyyy better. this is one of those games that makes it worth upgrading your pc for, but if that is not an option then Sminky is probably right, u'd be better off with a ps4 pro copy because at least you would get stable frames for the most part

PS4 Pro, you'll even enjoy 4k upsampling although be it at a 30fps target. My only tip is maybe clean out the dust, that's gonna exacerbate the fan noise which the PS4s are notorious at when it comes to graphically demanding games.

QHD is a bit too much of an ask for your current rig but you could make it work by playing at 1080p instead (although image quality could suffer when scaled to 1080p). Be advised however that your Xeon CPU is pretty much at minimum specs while your GPU is sandwiched between minimum and recommended.

Tbh, if I were in your shoes, I’d play it safe and get the PS4 Pro version for guaranteed playable performance. No need to worry about resolution, graphical settings or whatnot; just plug and play.

Sell your PS4 Pro and upgrade your PC

I mean, your 970 is... a bit old mate, you can get a much better card now for what you'd pay for the next gen consoles. Granted I had to get a new card as my old 970 died in an electric storm, fun... But I upgraded to a 1660 Super, so I'm pretty happy right now. I meet all the recommended spec's, the only thing that might be iffy would be if I can do ray tracing or not.

Though if you go console, just note, you will be able to get the next gen for free. CDPR won't make you pay for the game twice, which is cool of them.

if your rig can run recent games on 1440p, then get the game on PC

You're speaking of 2 options but you only have 1. Your old rig won't be able to handle this game. It's one thing if your PC was up to date, but not what those specs. Only your PS4 Pro can handle it and even that might have some issues.

It's not a shooter, it's a RPG. Just because a game has some shooting doesn't make it a shooter. And his PC falls well under the minimum requirements to play that game.
