It's hard to tell how much is sold outside of Steam. But what we know is that the game has been on sale for almost 1.5 years now and has had the number 1 top seller spot plenty several times over the past year or so and has been almost consistently under the top 20 sellers since pre-orders became available. I have never seen any other game that had pre-orders be so consistently in the top sellers throughout. It reached number 1 spot again about 2 weeks ago and there is still well over a week left. Before that it was in the top 10 for like 2-3 months and in the top 3 for like a month at least. Though granted that the top sellers list is based on revenue generated and not numbers of copies sold, but still.
one of the biggest releases in the entirety of 2020
Too many other platforms to reach higher on Steam on launch, is my prediction.
CP2077 was also for some time in top 3 on Steam sale list...
So I suppose that 500k is not too big number.
I agree.
right?
So I think the ceiling might be higher than it would otherwise be. Especially since the other major releases for the Holiday 2020 season have already been released more or less. Maybe we'll see a lot more people simultaneously playing this than might otherwise be expected. The long, long preorder period also has to count for something.
my question is what it hold in like a year or three after launch?
