i mean if you can have robotic implants why not advanced laser guns, seems realistic in a Cyber tech based game to me.
In 2025 (2082 for the game :P ), energy beam guns are more extended, primarily in space ships, where they are connected to the vessel energy plant and can be fired without worrying about weapon running out of energy.
I mean they could make certain energy weapons from the PnP game into "Legendaries" so to speak, it would be a nice touch
This world uses handheld EM railguns (tech rifles) though. I think it could just be ballistics, just for the sake of design choice for being gritty.
