Techie class?
Anyone knows any new info about this?

Curious about the crafting system in the game.

Yea I guess all classes are open to explore, but I haven't see much about this Techie class, skillwise or how / what they craft?
omE Sep 27, 2020 @ 6:41am

Yea i read so, but is it true? I thought they removed Spiderbot as a companion so that they could add content into Techie class?

I'll ask Pawel Sasko my self.

I think Miles is refering to the diffrent ways of hacking? The Techie won't hack anything, only craft stuff I think is the current situation?
Sam Wise Sep 27, 2020 @ 7:20am
Yea I watched the video now, he was only refering to the hacking system.

But I'm still not clear about if Techie would be a class of it's own or just a crafting skill?

This mite help you hon
https://www.ign.com/wikis/cyberpunk-2077/Attributes_and_Character_Perks_(Skill_Tree)

It shows there perks and skills and attributes, Technical is the attribute for engineering witch is the the perk for crafting.

As others have already posted above via that interview and other sources, Techie class build was removed/consolidated due to too much redundancy with the Netrunner class build. The Techie class skills and benefits have been rolled into other things, and (with some exceptions) still exist. Some of it is also now rolled into attributes, which on their own, even apart from skills/perk trees provide options and checks in-game if they're high enough.

The Tech attribute itself, Engineering tree, and Crafting tree contain a lot of the previous Techie stuff. Similarly, a lot of the previous Assassination tree stuff was rolled into Stealth, Rifles, and Cold Blooded.

Remember that there aren't so much "classes" in 2077 as builds which resemble them, hence what they call the "fluid class system." To be clearer and more thorough, I'll paste this from another topic:

Attributes

  • Body (Affects HP, damage done in melee, where you can perform certain physical interactions with the world, and bullet spread.) Associated skills: Street Brawler, Athletics, Annihilation.
  • Reflex (Affects critical chance and attack speed, including melee attack speed, as well as the speed of certain other actions.) Associated skills: Handguns, Rifles, Blades.
  • Intelligence (Affects hacking difficulty and upload speed.) Associated skills: Device Hacking, Target Hacking.
  • Tech (Affects armor quality, provides certain contextual benefits such as being able to hotwire certain vehicles, increases likelihood of looting craftable loot, and generally provides perks related to crafting.) Associated skills: Crafting, Engineering.
  • Cool (Affects critical hit damage, stealth speed and effectiveness, and provides perks that increase survivability in difficult situations e.g. being "cool" under pressure including in combat.) Associated skills: Stealth, Cold Blood.

Skills.

  • Street Brawler (melee weapons other than blades.)
  • Athletics (while some may think that this stat involves speed, as in Elder Scrolls, remember that Athletics here is rooted to the Body attribute. So the Athletics skill here instead concerns physical feats such as ripping automated turrets from their bases, prying doors open, using enemies as human shields, and perks which contribute to your ability to absorb damage. Anything involving raw strength.)
  • Annihilation (Improves your effectiveness with shotguns and other high raw power heavy weapons, reduces recoil with heavy weapons, and includes perks associated with them. You can begin to see the pattern here. All of the skills that involve the Body attribute have to do with your physical strength, health, and abilities.)
  • Handguns (small arms such as pistols, and perks associated with them.)
  • Rifles (rifles, including sniper rifles, perks associated with them, including for example perks associated with rifle sway and spread reduction.)
  • Blades (Bladed weapons including mantis blades, and perks associated with bladed weapons and bleeding effects - which are status effects inflicted on enemies by certain weapons.)
  • Device Hacking (Hacking into devices and close range objects including terminals, doors, etc. and associated perks such as perks increasing the duration of hacking effects among other things.)
  • Target Hacking (Remote hacking of targets at range, including in-combat or stealth hacks of enemies, their weapons, their cyberware, etc. e.g. detonating enemies' equipped grenades for instance. Perks include increased or longer lasting cyberdeck memory, which can be thought of as "hacking mana points" required to hack.)
  • Crafting (Increases quality and effectiveness of crafting, and includes perks related to this as well as the sale price of crafted loot. Leveled up by breaking down, crafting, or modifying items.)
  • Engineering (Affects damage and effectiveness with tech weapons, as well as certain other undefined in-game options for interactions in the world, a previous example being the ability to hotwire certain vehicles. Tech weapons are one of three weapon types in the game, the other two being smart and power.)
  • Stealth (Effectiveness of stealth, silent takedowns, use of poisons, damage bonuses for stealth attacks, etc.)
  • Cold Blood (A state entered into under certain criteria, such as falling below a certain HP. When in the Cold Blood state you receive buffs depending on the perks in this skill's tree you invested in, such as critical damage increases among others. It effectively makes the player "cooler" under pressure, increasing their survivability, and increasing their damage in tight situations. It could almost be likened to luck in a sense. Likely also has other effects we haven't seen yet.)

What we know about crafting so far is that we can craft "armor, shards for cyberware, weapon modules, special weapons, consumables, [and] gadgets." We also know we can break items down (which is one of the ways the Crafting skill is leveled up,) and that the Tech attribute and Crafting skill both affect armor quality, effectiveness of crafting, likelihood of craftable loot, and sale price of crafted items.

They've said they want to give us the option of buying or crafting the best weapons and mods for them.
