Agreed, hands down the biggest surprise this year in gaming. Steam users always have to be something extra in this little echo chamber.
But since that's what most people think of now when they hear "Guardians of the Galaxy," anything even resembling that, or taking influences from both the comics and the films (which is what this game is doing) is seen as somehow emulating but not matching it.
I can't wait until three decades from now when MCU is oversaturated and dead and they reboot the whole franchise and the people so invested in those versions of characters act dismayed when the fans of whatever new incarnation exists then are just as upset that various media don't perfectly match their preconceptions as they are now.
Hope there's gonna be texture modding

Well he did end up growing up with aliens after his first 13 years on Earth in the game's story. So he might have developed some wonkiness to his accent from that.
Still loving the game thought :). Voice acting is top notch.
