100% agree, sadly i cant remember a single interesting female char in a game/movie, they are always to neat, perfect and only do the right thing, it are the weaknesses and failures that makes protagonist interesting.

This discussion is about this game. How other games are is irrelevant to that.

But I'm sure for people like you the mere existence of a main character that isn't white or isn't a white male automatically means it's being preachy even if the storyline and dialog has nothing to do with their race or sex, where the character could literally be replaced with a white male and it wouldn't change anything.

For an example, if the first game was made now instead of over decade ago, exactly the same, but the only difference is that Alan Wake is a black man, you and the others would be here automatically calling the game as being woke.

If Alien was to be made now instead of in the 70s, exactly the same storyline and acting, same dialog, but the main character was a white or even black women, you and the others would be calling it woke.

Why? Because for you people storyline, dialog none of it matters, only the race and/or sex of the character matters, and if the character isn't white and/or male it will always automatically be woke to you and the others.

However, Would it have made more of a difference if Alice was the main character instead of the FBI agent? That would of probably made more sense if she needed to rescue Alan. Maybe pulled a Sarah Conner and toughened up a bit since the last time we seen her. That may have been more acceptable to others complaining. But that didnt happen.

Thats the direction Remedy chose and they can do whatever they want with their IP. Was there a stink being made with a female lead in Control? Nope. So even though it had a female protagonist it was still a good game and fit the story. Same can happen here.

I still don't like that "strong woman" as one of the main characters (where the heck is Sarah Breaker??), but I guess topic closed for me.

It's still quite a stretch to call her a "strong woman" even before we see anything from her side. So far she looks quite humble, far from being as annoying as let's say Aloy or repulsive as cpt marvel.

No, you know why, because in 99% of the cases that is the norm.

Out of all the times that they remake movies over and over again. With all the different versions of those movies. Now they dont have a white actress its a problem. Racism at its finest here.

You bickering about Cleopatra? This has been a debate for a very long time what Cleopatra's ethnic background actually was.

I would be happy if all those fantastic female leads would at least deliver a good performance, is there really someone who liked the star wars girl in episode 7-9 or laughed at the three female ghostbusters. Most female leads are total generic and boring these days, the only exception was maybe sigourney weaver at alien (but these where better days with more talented actors/directors). Again, if i buy alan wake i want play as alan wake, give the girl her own ip and let the customers decide which one they buy.
