Not really. It's a good weapon early-game when even +1 weapons are rare, but you'll get much, much better as you progress.
An extra 2.5 avg damage is nice but it's not worth agonizing over.
Oh yeah, there's a trick to prevent them from interfering. If you pick up the two cartilage chests scattered around the nautiloid, you can place them in the hallway leading to the bridge and block their pathing so they can't get to the fight.
you aren't. that's why you block them from engaging in combat with you.
the one you're supposed to kill or disarm at least is the General. having to deal with the General AND two more cambions is... very very unpleasant. No way could anybody win that fight normally. don't let anybody tell you otherwise, because they ARE cheating.
yes, that particular spell (command) has a decent chance of hitting. it's your main physical attacks that have a terrible chance to hit.
which, btw, is not until much later in Act 1. it's a decent weapon at the time you get it.
I made most of act 1 with that blade, on my TAV. Then my TAV and Lae'zel get both giths swords at the monastery, but until then I found no better greatsword sword.
