Probably no less pleased considering whom it was taken off of.
Speak for yourself, man. Great Old One has been awesome. I can just read everyone's thoughts and know exactly what to say to get what I want.
Additionally thorn whip let's you rescue objects from lava as well as displace objects silently.
In my experience, Thorn Whip very rarely hits, even with my casting attribute as high as I can get it.
As it stands now, the spells granted by Pact of the Tome seem appropriate for an Archfey, but not so much for a Fiend or Great Old One.
You get Guidance without sacrificing an equipment slot and needing Shadowheart in your vicinity at all times. If you didn't know, it grants you +1d4 to skill checks and you can cast it straight from the dice screen, no need to pre-cast it.
You get Call Lightning which is a great AoE spell that has won me encounters. You get up to 10 turns to use it per cast. Also a free Haste per long rest.
Early game Pact of the Chain can be useful for blinding enemies, but the rest of the game Tome wins.
I wish people would stop exaggerating these ridiculously high damage numbers when giving build guides and give the actual estimates instead.
Raphael is the tankiest enemy in the entire game, with an HP of 666.
Doing 600 damage per blast, with upwards of 3 blasts by level 12, means you can one shot literally any opponent the game throws at you.
