Knowing when you're Infected.
I believe it's currently too easy to know when you're infected.
Project Zomboid's wiki says being bitten has a 96% of being infected, consider yourself dead.

Being scratched on the other hand has a 25% chance, 3/4th chance of being fine BUT you can still tell almost instantly if you're infected and I think that's very dumb.

Currently you can tell if you're infected, before any symptoms, by trying to heal. If you get your health back to the maximum amount, which isn't hard, and you're still in Slight Damage then you're infected. I think the symptoms should be what tell you.

~ Actual Suggestions Part ~

1. Make it so when you're infected you can heal back to "OK".
2. Make the symptoms of being infected, like sickness/etc, show up a certain % of the time even when you're not infected.

He means you can tell instantly after being scratched or bitten by not being able to fully heal, and infection specific moodles which rarely appear, unless your turning.

Try getting sick from eating rotten food. You'll find that the symptoms are almost identical, the only real difference being that pain seems to be a little more potent if you're infected. But either way you can heal fully by eating and you'll experience nausia, pain, and anxiety. So for number 1, already done. Number 2, this game is supposed to be highly realistic. So how do you expect your character to not know if they're infected when a scratch or bite looks like hell has taken up residence inside of it? Infection is fine as it is.

Besides, I want to know plenty of time in advance so I can go out in a blaze of glory instead of just dropping dead.

Croak you seem to be slightly mentally ill. Number 1 is not done. When your character is infected you CAN NOT heal past "Slightly Damaged" no matter what. Therefore you KNOW you're infected, that's what I want changed.

Seeing as you're infected by tiny organisms I very well expect our characters not be to be top rated scientists with equipment to check their cut for the infection. The scratch would look the same if it was infected or not.

It seems your opinion is based off wanting the, what you called, "highly realistic" game to be less realistic and infact be easier.

I do agree it is incredibly obvious once you've been infected once or twice.

Which is what lead players to commit suicide one way or another. I'd rather see the infection be a bit more subtle, make you believe that you've dodged it.
