can't join my own dedicated server
Hi so I've followed this guide https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2682141370 to try to host a dedicated server in my pc. I've opened the ports in my router for my desktop (I haven't been able to see any other options) and in my windows defender firewall. the server's world works fine when I host it as well.

but I haven't been able to set it so that my private and public IP be the same (using a NETGEAR router, and atm I haven't figured out how) when I start the server using the nosteam.bat in the dedicated server folder it runs fine but it won't show up on the public server list, nor does it show up in favorites. I made it so that the default 127.0.0.1 is one of the fav servers, as well as the private ip and the public ip, and I can't join any of them.

help would be very much appreciated

Do you have any antivirus software? Some of them can block the server connection.

I just have windows defender, and I completed the step where I gave the ports permission to be connected in my firewall
WAIT there was an error I didn't see bc the server cmd went past so quickly, says "No UPnP-enabled Internet gateway found, you must configure port forwarding on your gateway manually in order to make your server accessible from the Internet."

I already did though??
I believe I should mention that my router only allows me to open ports on specific devices, and not my whole network (not sure if this is the default for everyone else) and I have opened the ports on my Desktop where the dedicated server is running, as well as the corresponding firewall rules

In that case can you check if your ISP allows you to host servers? Rarely the service provider can put people behind a double NAT, which would prevent hosting unless the provider allows it / you pay for it.

followed the cmd tracert method just now, I do not have a double NAT situation it seems

If you're willing I can message u my discord and I can screenshare what's going on, I'm not sure if I failed to get across critical information since I'm not sure what I'm looking for

That wouldn't be necessary because if it is a general connection issue I can only point in a rough area of "check your AV, firewalls, router security, port openings, ISP" and so on. If you want I can check if there is anything wrong with the server though?
Go to C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid
Open the server-console.txt
Copy everything from there to https://pastebin.com/
Click “Create a new paste”
Share the website link of the new paste here.

I offered that since I'm not 100% sure that I did the port forwarding correctly (I'm like 65% sure) but here's the paste

Hm, it looks like its trying and failing to load several mods? Can you try removing them and see if it manages to connect without them to see if its not a mod issue.
Additionally I usually recommend UPnP enabled, since it just checks whether the ports are open or not, if it says it fails to bind them it means they are usually properly enabled.

got rid of all mods, same problem as before I'm afraid

Can you share the logs again in that case?

one second, I did it one more time, it says "default port has been mapped successfully" which means it worked, but I still can't join the server nor find it on the public server list.

Here's the new paste jTEpnEVH

I should also mention that this server uses files from a hosted server with friends, I correctly changed all the file names, and the corresponding data inside the 2 .db files (I forgot their names)

I just noticed something, you mentioned that you are running nonsteam mode right? With nonsteam mode it will not show up in the server list since that server list is based on the Steam mode.
