Any helpful tips or infermation on hosting a online server.

When the new 42 MP drops I plan on hosting a server for me and my friends but id like to read up on what service I should have run the servers and if there are any tips,tricks, and advice for the task of setting up a server and running it. I like to see how hard this is gonna be. Iv been an Admin for zomboid before but I wasn't the admin who wasn't up the mods.

But b42 will see new UI for MP setup as well. So that guide could be obsolete to some extent.

I had a similar issue and ended up hosting my save files and mods through nextcloud hosting[www.librecloud.host] so I could sync everything between my desktop and laptop. It let me play without relying on Steam Cloud, and I didn’t lose any progress. Just make sure you set it to sync the right folders, especially the Zomboid user folder in your system files. Worked great for me.
