B42- They removed Molotov Cocktails from the game
I see some people saying "oh they just renamed it to firebomb", but I don't believe that's the case. Firebombs were already a thing in B41, they were only craftable if you had the Engineer occupation or read the magazine. After hopping into B42, I spent 30 minutes trying to craft a molotov with either whiskey, brandy, and other alcohols, but nothing worked. I even tried filling those bottles with gasoline beforehand, and still no option to craft a molotov (but FireBomb still pops up saying I need to learn the recipe).

This is a huge bummer because not only was the combat system made much harder for hand to hand, but now it's going to be impossible to clear out large hordes without either choosing engineer or reading the magazine :(

I was wondering why I couldn't craft it. I assumed I needed to find a magazine for that, but removing it completely from the game and making it 'firebomb' only is so dumb.

Between melee being harder and molotov being removed how are we supposed to clear out any town? Especially on higher level of zombies than the Apocalypse.

If it makes you feel better I cant craft firebombs as an engineer

Maybe your not supposed to be able to clear out a town so easily anymore. Its almost trivial to clean out a town currently, when really it should kinda be an end game thing. I can clear a town within an hour of starting a save.
Though removing the molotov is probably just an over site, as it doesnt seem very realistic.

Only in B41 and I agree. With enough hunting knives you can kill 1000s of zombies. Hell in CDDA challenge I can easily rack up 1000+ kills in the first 2 weeks.

However, B42 just makes it nigh-impossible. Muscle Fatigue is tied only to weapon skill and it builds up too fast + loot is even rarer (used to be 60%, now it's only 40). You are lucky if you find 1 crowbar in 10 houses. + Molotovs can not be crafted.

If anything, I am tempted to just go full caveman and see how it will go
You have to use gasoline, but they are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ completely useless now because instead of fixing whats already in the game indiestone decided to waste time working on end game because they're too worried about multiplayer keeping them relevant.

I just threw 2 molotovs at a massive crowd. It didn't land were I aimed, and it left 2 small flames that fizzled out in seconds. Not a single zombie caught fire. It would have been easier to set them on fire with a match.

You need gaz + alcool + empty glass bottle. I think the craft menu dont work very well when you want to make molotov, they indicate wrong things, i am not sure. But with gazoline, alcool and empty glass bottle you'll make molotov in B42, i am positive.

They are very effective, the detonation is weak but only 1 square of fire and you can kill hundreds of zombies without fatigue in 3H in game. You have to pull a lot of zombies by yelling or wathever, launch it and move in circle around the fire. With the good tempo it's safe and the most powerfull way to kill zombies in the game.
It's easier if you choose a place with trees or grass. I like to do it on crossroads.

You don't need to use gasoline. It's also all WIP, which is why it's in an unstable branch.

What you need right now is a bottle of alcohol that's full, a bottle of alcohol that's empty and ripped sheets. This is a known issue.
looks like dan answered but ya.... they didnt remove anything.... its just held back from the current unstable build..... theres a buncha things missing... itll all be back... thats why you should be playing 41 instead of letting unstable pull your hair out
(that applies to me too, i only play a little bit so the unstable dont ruin it for me)

Those molotov cocktails being flung around like we're in a 0.1g environment and taking like 10 seconds to explode after impact were the jankiest thing about the game by a long shot and I personally never used them for anything other than once again basking in the glory of the jank.
