Would PZ2 be a better option?
I am a huge fan of PZ. Easily in my top 5 GOAT games. I have played for years and it is always a game that I constantly come back to as well as keep an eye on for the free updates and content.

Watching the release of B42 silently from the sidelines I cant help but feel that this game would benefit more from a remake/second version. It is definitely the best team to be working on a zombie game, and the best zombie game that exists so far imo, but for what the dev's want to cram into an engine that's already plagued with performance issues I feel it is a battle they will never win.

Yea there is mods, there is sandbox settings, rollback if you don't like b42, updates are FREE, it's called unstable for a reason etc. Read them all. To me it feels different. I don't care about new graphics or new systems or bugs or fancier this or that, the game is amazing and the dev's know where to take it, I trust that. I am saying I would rather pay another $50-60 bucks for something that is smoother and more efficient to work with than have another decade go by for the same issues to be present. I feel like at this point most people deep in the community don't even really care about the actual game being better or not anymore, its nostalgia and community and people defending their own choices or beliefs. I get those feelings, especially if you've been a a part of it for a good while, but to me the reality has become that this engine will never be capable of doing all the things that the developers are capable of. So it needs to be re-made or else continuing is just hindering development. I so want this game to live on but I don't think it can without a remake. Is it only me? Would you buy it again?

You seriously think people would pay AAA price for PZ2 with PZ1 still in early access?

The noise all over all social media would never stop.

No I want them to be dedicated to their goals regardless of how hard it is and not take the easy route because of the small minority of players... if a company cannot do that with their first project why would i invest in another game ? Would the same thing happen? It sounds like a easy approach as I have seen other people who get into developing their own games quickly starting other projects and just not staying focused on one theme.

I don't think I would pay for pz 2 and quite frankly after being a customer for so many years I would feel pretty irritated and let down.
I'm saying I would support it more if it wasn't plagued with the issues it currently has. Like paying more money/buying it again. PZ is not really early access, more like active development. People need to get over that, early access is just a phrase. The EA title does not make PZ any more or less than it is, unless your a mindless social media idiot.

Being that customer for so many years has well paid off with all the free content and updates already no? And its not the easy route to have a engine more capable of doing what they want, its the smarter route. Doesn't need to be a whole new game.

I fully support them in their endeavors, after not before 1.0, I think would just be detrimental as far as community relations go. People would never let it go.

Specifically, what would you like to be implemented that is currently not possible due to engine limitations?
I am all for a sequel...

After The Indie Stone moves PZ to v1.0 and in a state that reasonably matches their roadmap.

I've been having fun with this game for several years. This is the best $15 for zombie apocalypse entertainment that I have ever spent and unlike a movie, each new scenario I start does not play out in same way.

As someone just purely and actively enjoying the new B42 and not having any feelings of nostalgia (probably you stayed away from the game for too long and think others did too) nor community (I don't do MP), I don't feel what you feel man. And the game is actually better, I think? So no I won't ask for a remake since at this point I feel the game's current upward trajectory is something that needs to be sustained, not restructured.

And by the way another game I played exited early access before being complete, released a DLC, and then announced a sequel before the main story was finished and the main game still buggy, and of course people got mad. It's common sense.
I'm curious what engine the OP is shilling for here, tbh. Almost always these posts are just thinly veiled advertisements for Unreal Engine 5.
no.

I'm sure when PZ is done the devs will never want to think about another zombie for as long as they live.
They can't possibly finish the game within their lifespans at this rate.
If you want PZ2, you can always try Vein. It's basically just a demo right now, but it seems to be trying to be 3D PZ.

I'm personally against PZ2, as there's no point to that. Engine change doesn't necessarily equate to better performance anyway. Vein is a proof of that. It runs like ♥♥♥♥ on my ancient laptop, while PZ is very smooth despite the stutters.

THIS.
Let me just pop a new game with a new brand engine because whats the fking point of the same game in the same engine.
Better yet lets use one of the already engines on the market that way what makes this game valuable and popular/unique it's lost for the sake of ... something.

Honestly this major push to make every game switch to UE5 is really sus. Anyone who knows the history of RenderWare knows exactly why it's a bad idea just at face value.
