Build 42.2 Where are the sledge hammers?!

I have done 2 runs where I have looted every single box in all of the warehouses in Muldraugh, I even moved the boxes in the front in the bigger warehouses to make sure I hit every single box and still nothing. And I have my game on sandbox with the loot set to the highest drop rate in every category. Is the sledge hammer even in the game anymore? Am I the only smuck that cant find one? This is ridiculous.

I tried 2 B42.1 runs with insane loot and i found it during first few days in random places in both cases.
You probably didnt pray enough to RNGjesus.

No. Other people report on various items (insert item needed) they are looking for and can't seem to RNG them through lucky rolls.

i dont know how it is now honestly, dont play much these days,
but before, a few items are extra rare loot table and 1 of them
gets randomly chosen each game to be ultra ultra rare,
most the time its generator manual or sledge,
but can be needle and some few more items i forgot.

I find my sledge's next to the utility truck road events mostly

instead of looking through warehouses try to find utility trucks or man holes that have cones around them. Those are events that I've gotten most my sledge spawns from

The issue is just probabilities. There are 14 different loot tables in warehouses, and the sledge only is in one. So right there its only a 7% chance of getting the right crate. And then the spawn rate in that crate is 0.016. So the odds of any crate in a warehouse having a sledge, is something like 0.001%.

Better chance of finding one these days is taking a drive down country roads. Repair vans spawn them much more often.

they throw them all in the river as of b41, but there were some lazy a holes that only thew theres in the bin(that's where i found mine), if you're dedicated enough you can forge them with blacksmithing, then promptly throw it in the river

I have 7k hours in this game. I felt the sledge was excessively rare in B41 but I would have never posted something like this about it. This is on point for B42. I have found 2 sledgehammers since Dec 17th. People need to stop gas lighting about it. They are beyond excessively rare now. The generator mag is more rare now but it's still reasonable. Sledges are bonkers. I haven't found a manhole sledge since like 6 months before B42 launched so I don't know why people keep recommending that. I check warehouses at the beginning of most games.

They lowered loot settings by 20% in b42 I believe

So everything is more rare.

2nd there are more items in the pool. So now everything is even more rare.

I guess you got bad RNG and get shovels at manholes. Ive made about 3 different playthroughs since b42 release and have found sledges at road events on two of them.

Sledgehammers are simply too hard to get now. Driving around hoping for the right random vehicle story is absurd and basicaly bad MMORPG gameplay.

The way B42 works right now with many loot it simply cannot be released for large server multiplayer, as those rely on steady loot respawn. Vehicle loot and survivor zombies is NOT respawnable. Once all the survivor packs are found and killed, that's it. No more survivor zombies.

You can craft one either via forging or knapping. Pretty high level stuff, but it has magazines to reduce it by 2 levels (magazines are very rare on apo).

I personally upped the random story chance to often, just for fun. If it's zombie apocalypse roads should be full of wrecked cars, right? That's how I found 2 sledges and large hiking backpack.
