New player experience? so far, not good

We buy the game to play together after seeing all the amazing content coming from a few dudes and load it up. After finished the tutorial we try to figure out how to play together.

We ended up joining some server but we were split up on spawn and didnt know where to go.

Does this game even cater for 2 people looking to play together?

Yes?

You can always host the server yourself. Or play split screen coop.

If you host, you can set the server however you want.

Don't you get the option to choose your spawn city in multiplayer too?
If so just pick the same town to spawn in and use skype or discord of hecking ventrillo to find where you're at, jeeze

It's like saying visiting Spain is garbage for 2 people looking to travel together, because one of you took the train to Barcelona and the other genius flew to Madrid..

This game dont hold your hand or carry you along, its only job is to kill you. If you want a game thats catered to playing together try stardew valley.

I think it would be better to host and just play that way if you two are new if your computers and internet allow that, you can make it so you guys are visible on eachother's map in the options for the server and just start in the same town .. like Riverside and meet up that way.

If you cannot see if the server has safe house with respawn in safe house option enabled along with factions if so you can make a faction and one of you can claim a safehouse then open the settings for safehouse and make sure respawn in safehouse is checked and just die real quick and respawn near one another that way.

You cant really blame a game for lack of player skill, that's just unfair on the game.

I appreciate people will always defend a game they love but as a new player, the journey surviving together is pretty awful. I guess ill go read a guide on how to host a good server. Such fun times.. Then again this game is early access so i knew i would be getting an unfinished product. When is this game being finished?

What a nice welcome to a new player. (Not.)

Hit Host in the menu, edit sandbox settings to your liking, save, start. Once you're in the game, hit escape, then pick invite friend. Once you found him in the list and clicked allow, you can invite him from there, or in the future your friend can just join you by right-clicking you in their friend list or chat, then join game.

Thats just how it works. You pick a town to spawn and its random where you spawn at within the town. Its up to you to communicate with each other to find where you're at and then go from there.

But with game knowledge you can predict where you'll spawn. Professions like Doctor often spawn at doctor offices so thats something to consider.

Fair enough. I dont do multiplayer at all. But that does make sense anyways. I figured it would have been a option but if not toggled, they do have that as a guideline on where to meet-up.

Time and place for it is what I say. When a newbie is a obvious newbie. Why bother waste the energy in that way when you can help out?
