2. Make mistakes and learn from it.
3. There's Project Zomboid Wiki[pzwiki.net] to help you out to understand most of the core mechanics.
4. Play the tutorial
5. In sandbox settings, you can lower the difficulties of the game, ie: Builder mode.
6. There's a lot of youtube guides you can watch.
Or tailor the custom settings to your liking.
I changed the zombie spawn settings to suit my needs and the game Is way better I think.
2. Play sandbox -> Initial Infection template
3. Create combat type character (firefighter, lumberjack, police, veteran, repairman, construction worker)
4. Git gud
5. ????
6. Profit.
Embrace the sweet release of death. You're gonna die a lot until you get it. Just except that and try not to get attached to your soon dead character.
This game is pretty fair, when you die there is usually something you could have done to have prevented it so when you die you may feel 18 different flavors of angry. It's ok to put the game down for a month or two until you come back to it.
the shed is the best place to look

Listen.
The kitchen is generally a bad place to look for a weapon
you can get a weapon here but it will often be crappy.
The rolling pin is alright. The fying pans are okay
But you really want a tool of some kind.
Imagine most of your weapons will kill 3 or more zombies, at which point you should think about whether this weapon can bash any more brains in of its just gonna break. Check that in the inventory.
If all fails get a car and run them down. Run out of town. Or drive to a place where u can take a small group.
Remember
to
SWITCH THE RADIO ON

in real life i can tell by the avatar you would have a very hard time in the apocalypse
so the simulation is fairly accurate true to life.
and remember that one
Play as a Female
because its hotter that way its a hot game
i love it.
Riverside is the best starter. you MAY begin inside a Bar. which means you will have a very powerful access to weapons. Don't drink the alcohol because you don't know what effect that has because you are new. So don't do it at the start of the game.
If else
If you picked a Cook as your profession you might start inside a food place.
And here you might have a good chance for a Rolling pin.
also
Same deal as a Fireman if you was a fireman you might begin at his/her house OR
you might begin at the station. And in that case there might be an axe.
Maybe you would benefit from bringing Adrenaline Junkie as it will keep you moving fast during panic. Maybe.
it help you evade.

Nice and slow very gentle. Just ball them up.
Lead them back back towards back your house.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3227492667
use the available tools in the region to keep the distracted. After this
We don't know what we wanna do next. But i personally left the oven on at the starter home. I might pop back in grab a book read up on a skill while i wait for a fire to ignite itself and i'l burn these ones.
I chose the Farmer because she starts with an option for rain boots which provide +100/100 scratch and bite defence to the feet.
What we went on to do is
we located from neighbouring sheds a Hammer, and the Axe from the back of the Fire Truck. Found a pristine house one of the neighbours Beautiful wall paper i would say it was the nicest house in the street.
So we decide on this occasion to begin barricading the house
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3227514916
from the inside out.
To do this we chopped some trees with an axe, and cut them with a saw. These are Shed Items. Can be found in 2 tile cupboards and garages aswell
On this occasion we decide to barracide the front door
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3227523731
from the outside. On this occasion we attract some passer by attention while we are moderately exerted. We don't want to kill him here, because i don't want the blood all over my brand new house. so we push him over and stand on him. Catch our breath and we'll lead him towards teh siren then climb the fence to get back to wehre we are
If all go 2 plan
u will end up with

decent gear, my case riot helm i love that
got house full of stuff boarded inside and out
4 aiming out of 43 shells.
111 zombies killed. And a tonne more burned.
So now she has 100% on the head, 100% on the feet and then mix n match on the inbetweens
It's just a lot of trial and error, I absolutely hated this game at first, and now I've got almost 750 hours in it...
