Solo-Player mod recommendations
Hey guys, long time fan of this game, not a lot of hours, but my love for it remains immense. What are some good mods I should try out that have come out over the years? I mostly play solo if that means much.

What kind of mod are you looking for?

my absolute favorite must have mod is the Random Zombies. You can set what % are crawler, slow walk, fast walk, sprinters. What % are weak, normal, tough. What % are dumb (normal) or smart (open doors).
Really makes things spicy, especially when you get that sprinting tough smart zombie hunting you down in your bedroom.

Also, Horde Night is great too. You can customize how often it happens. What time of day it starts. How many come for you. How many more are added to the total the next time it happens. Gives you a good reason to make a defensible base.

Eerie Country is a nice large map addition to the south of the main world. More Traits might also be a mod to try, plenty of good and bad traits to use.

Horde night is a great mod that gives you a defence event to build up for...take care not to cook your CPU with too many zombies.
If it still works, save our station was a fun objective mod that gets you to locate and repair the emergency broadcast system.
Expanded heli events also add a dozen new things that can happen after the vanilla heli event passes.
There is also an evac mission mod if you want to work towards an end game escape. I know over time most games just become cabbage patch simulator till you reset lol

Could try out with a RV life as well having your RV as your permanent home.

The "true actions", "weapon condition indicator" and "common sense" mods add some nice quality of life features.

Theres some great map packs as well. Eerie County (mentioned above) is superbly designed and very large although its a little janky with how it connects to the rest of the original map. There are a ton of other really atmospheric map additions which you could consider as well.

For other stuff I really like "Bravens bicycles", "Sapphs cooking" and "evolving traits". Pedalling around on a bike is a great addition, especially when working cars/petrol are in short supply. More recipes are nice and add a lot of flavour to the game (pun intended). Evolving traits means that you will actually gain certain perks from using skills a lot.

Love the RV mod mentioned in the above post but fair warning - it does make things really easy as long as your vehicle is gassed up since you have a mobile base with permanent electricity.

Finally, the "fix tooltips lag" mod sorts out the lag problem you can sometimes get when trying to rip clothing etc. If you dont have this lag issue then obviously not relevant.

Have fun :)

It depends on what game you like playing - combat, exploration or builder? Quality of life, more combat, more zombies, there's one for everything... As a builder (I am terrible at combat!), I love Immersive Solar arrays as it gives you a real project to search for items to power your base. I also love farming - but cant seem to get the mods to play nice - irrigation pipes works just fine though! Item stories & Vehcile scenes add some fun story elements. Shopping carts, autotsars trailers & Standardised vehicle upgrades also add some fun. For maps (and if you like combat) the Frigate and Museum are really fun to explore.

I've just deleted all my mods to try and track down a conflict with literature spawning in solar battery banks and 'Mo crops seeds not spawning, but in my last run I had great fun with the mods: immersive barricade start, barricaded world, barricades hurt zombies and tripping zombies! Using traps to defend your base is also good fun (unless you fall in one yourself).

There's a mini-health panel mod you can pick up in the workshop

It is very convenient to have for more experienced players.

At the same time though: it helped me a lot when I was new to the game, and struggled to grasp treating my injuries. (Especially when I would be bleeding while zeds are chasing me)

This should be it if you wish to take a peek; if you aint interested then no worries obviously hahaha glhf though buddy
