You can just avoid traits that bring you anxiety and depression. As far as I know nothing will make you anxious but some negative traits and zombie infection, and you can get depressed only by eating bad food or having your boredom/anxiety too high.

You can just read a magazine or a book and it disappears. If you're gonna do something boring like grind Tailoring, stick a CD on and it'll nullify the boredom.
Besides that, you shouldn't ever see anxiety unless you took smoker/haemophobia, or you've been infected with zombie fever. In that case, don't take negative traits/don't get bitten.
If you mean depression instead of anxiety...just don't get bored.

There really isn't that much to do in the game, so doing a bare minimum of managing your little sim shouldn't be such a chore. It's part of the game.

I sometimes find characters get a little bit of anxiety in the first few days, particularly if there is a lot of combat and the build doesn't have any military background. As an issue it goes away as the killcount increases though. And as a repressed brit I'm happy to tell you that any mental health condition can be managed using pills and alcohol.

Don't even need to do that, just stay outside and the boredom goes away.

Bleach actually causes the highest amount of sadness out of anything in the game.

if you're having problems micromanaging your stats, i recommend opening up the sandbox settings and changing each day to be longer, under the 'time' section. setting a day to be say, 4 hours instead of the default hour gives you four times as long to deal with any given problem.

I always thought it was fighting zombers that got rid of it. Didn't realise it was literally just being outside.

Just enable god mode through debug mode then. You won't have to micromanage any of the moodle.

Both do. Killing zombies gets rid of it faster, but it passively goes down when you're outside. I usually just think of it as "cabin fever" more than boredom, as it basically exists to force players outside or consume resources to remain indoors (and be a debuff for stale/rotten/uncooked foods I guess).
