Consider this example:
You have a Military Backpack filled to the brim and equipped which has 36 capacity and 87% encumbrance reduction.
Since the reduction multiplier applies to the bag it has an encumbrance of 4,68.
Now if you drop the bag it has an encumbrance of 36.
Depending on how much the character is carrying you can pick it back up or not, i.e. if your character is already encumbered to 15 it's impossible since 15 + 36 = 51 encumbrance.
The TO is suggesting to remove the limit in favor of some sort of penalty to get rid off the annoyance.
Because you're using non-vanila cheaty bag (95% weight reduction & 50+ capacity). PZ is a hardcore survival game so devs trying to limit player capabilities. That's why there is a hard limit of 50 carry capability.
Vanila bags don't have such issue. Limit your bags capability to 30-35 like a vanila bags.
Or cheat with cheat options to disable carry limit at all.
And just use its second feature, aka "Option to be Able to Pick Up Heavy Backpacks" and change its default settings to vanilla settings
Thanks, I'll check it out.
or simply get rid of annoyance
Jesus freaking christ because I don't want to hoard so many stuff, nor do I want to cheat. Even if I want to cheat in game, what does it have to do with my question or suggestion? I use backpacks with better stats to eliminate the annoying part of the capacity problem in a game where you have to take everything. Not to cheat, also, I still have capacity problems and still have to manage my stuff, don't worry. If you wonder, I have sprinters too and it's still decent and hard enough to play the game.
The worst thing you could do in PZ is to suggest others how to play the game. Especially to a person who suggests a feature for everyone's good. What I suggest is to remove the inventory capacity limit and replace it with multiplying damage over time.
If you have any benefitting comments, I'd happily listen, but if you're going to judge how others play the game, you might as well not talk which would be pretty equilavent to your talking.
THANKS. Have Common Sense
+ OH, also do you want to know? Even with vanilla bags, the same situation can repeat. Let's say a Millitary Backpack with a capacity of 28kg and it's full. Full encumbrance is 5,64kg. But unequipped, it has encumbrance of like 28 + 2 (Backpack itself) kgs.
Let's say you're a total vanilla and have strength 10, which you have mortal capacity of 20kg you can carry without harm and you're at 20,05kg. But no matter what, Player Inventory capacity is max.
20,05 / 20kg (Carries 50kg at max) Player Inventory
28 / 28 + 2 = 30kg Millitary Backpack (3,64 + 2 = 5,64kg when equipped)
Normally you have this Backpack equipped and your capacity is 25,69 / 20 full. But when you drop the bag, it becomes Thor's Hammer. You can't pick it up even if it's going to weigh 5,64kg. But you have a hurry and sprinters are coming really fast for you and you can't drop any of items both in your inventory and bag because they are all worthy at the moment. Why can't just realistically equip the bag and go instead of having to remove 5 bandages or a pen which is the main villain that prevents you from carrying the bag funnily enough?
Even in Vanilla, no matter how specific it is, it is a problem. With modded, this is even bigger problem. And if you're going to ask me why I play with near 480 mods, because I like to bring details and needed simplest features into my game which are not in the vanilla.
THEREFORE, my dear sir with your flesh of brain I hope that does not exceed your body capacity encumbrance at Stage 4, this has nothing to do with cheating, normally.
Please do not take his words into your heart.
By “suggestion”, I don't count the cheating suggestion or the Customizable Containers, neither of them were valid but the “Option to be Able to Pick Up Heavy Backpacks” of that mod which you just told. Thanks for taking part in it. Now it's time to deal with people who want to judge my gameplay.
The game pretty much forces you to put all your inventory on the ground, so you can move that heavy fridge to your truck. Then you go back and equip all the stuff you dropped. I think that is just the design of the game. Yea that fanny pack may be the final straw where you can't pick up the fridge, but that happens in real life too.
I get what you are saying where the game calculates the weight reduction after you pick it up. It doesn't bother me too much because there are plenty of things I can do in the game that can't be done IRL.
It really helps when you want to pack out that warehouse to your boxtruck.
BTW I found two mods that eliminate this specific problem. No need for big mods for small feature.
