Suggestion for Electrical skill
So there's not really much point for the electrical skill after you get hotwire. Yes it can repair generators slightly better, but that's basically it. Plus levelling electrical is so slow it's ridiculous. Therefore I wonder if it might be better if two changers were made.

First, make it so you need electrical ten to hotwire. Second, make it waaaaay easier to level. At least ten times more experience for doing stuff like dissassembling watches, and probably a lot more.

my brother/sister/sibling in christ, a CHILD can hotwire a real-life car from this era.

why don't they just...

ADD MORE STUFF FOR IT TO DO INSTEAD

If the addition of wirings actually made it into the next update, I feel like that will give more purpose to electrical skill already.
Good identification of problem, not a great solution to said problem.

what even does electrical do besides allowing you to hotwire cars?

Better generator repair and making battery-powered table lamps. That's all, lol.
I think there are some other uses as well, but it's too insignificant to care about.

I'm not sure how hotwiring a car today compares to hotwiring a car in the period in which the game is set. But I'm absolutely on board for giving electrical more to do. Isn't it also used for making certain traps? I wouldn't know, never having bothered...

repairing electrical substations would be interesting thus restoring power/water to a particular region until it breaks again.

Now that's an interesting idea. So long as it's limited to a fairly small area rather than something crazy like the entire map, and only for a while rather than permanently, shouldn't break game balance. However if it requires a really high electrical skill you're still left with the problem of levelling being a pain. The only real way aside from being a technical to do so at a reasonable speed is to have tons of generators running all over the place, since you get a bit of experience repairing them. Of course the problem there is generators are a finite resource.

jeez
people in PZ cannot even build a shelve without required "skill"
You're the police officer but barely can shoot, youre builder but all you can build is a bookshelve, not even a stair. I wish we could start the game with a bit more qualified human beings and get rid of the gain xp from tv shows, maybe just add a multiplier bonus or some recipes after watching these shows (they are usually duplicated on VHS if you will start 6 months later for example)

make the zombies black and the cops will aim like terminators.

Lvl10 for Hotwiring would be absolutely ridiculous. It's actually almost basic IRL.

Electrician needs more added to it:

Rewire a house
Automated Lighting/Switches
Microelectronics (PCB's, LED's, Transistors, Transformers, Capacitors, etc)
Stun guns
Remote Controlled RC/Airplanes (attachable bombs/cameras)
Alarms
Solar Panels
Rotary Generators (Hand charger)

There is a lot Electricians, and more specifically Electrical Engineers, can do. It's how we have most of our electronics today.

yeah this would be great.

hotwiring at level 10... LOL

Some of those I prefer more than others (solar in particular would be great), but it's definitely better to have more. That way there's bound to be something of interest justifying the skill for everyone whatever their tastes. Good suggestion.

Hopefully the new update brings some adjustments to professions, especially to electrician and engineer. They're pretty worthless for their costs. I have not yet found the purpose of crafting makeshift radios and walkie talkies because they're everywhere, and engineer bomb ingredients are pretty rare while a molotov is cheaper to make and more practical.

The only short term benefit of electrical skill is being able to move stoves at level 3 and hotwire cars. Maybe they could add batteries to watches, and in order to properly replace the battery you'd need a certain level in electrical. With the addition of factory and vending machines, maybe electrical skill will have more uses.
