Sleeping in MP and other Tips for begginers DUO in PZ.
Hi,

Together with my friend we just started playing PZ. We want to have an authentic and joyful experience, but there I do have several questions:

1. Sleeping in MP. I found out that when we get to sleep, we have different fatigue levels and need different times for sleep. The next thing is the amount of time when sleeping. It doesn't turn off automatically, as in single mode, so how much it needs to sleep?

2. Adding mods mid-game. So I have read on the forums, that you can add mods to a new save. What does it mean? Do I need to save the server, then add mods, then relaunch it, or how it works?

3. Any other tips for beginners? I would appreciate it if you could share some interesting things we should do with the server or gameplay to make the game experience smoother.

Thank you, guys!

1. I'm not familiar with MP server, but if it more or less works like split screen coop, then you can wake up manually by pressing any directional button. And if the speed up can't happen, it probably takes about five minutes real time for your character to wake up from Ridiculously Tired until fully rested.

2. Your statement is unclear. I'll assume you want to add mods to an already existing game. First, check the mod page and see if it can work for an existing game. Then you add the mod to the mod list. And lastly you need to reinitialize the server. The last step is just based on what I've heard, so I might be wrong.

3. Don't run unless it's necessary.

As best as I know there is no sleeping in multiplayer because it would be impossible to coordinate between players, unless you feel the need to stare at yourself lying in a bed for two hours real time.

Sleep aside, multiplayer really is the way to go. Once you have a bit of experience under your belt you can start thinking about playing with people you don't know, and at that point anti-griefing measures are very important. A lot of folks set up multiplayer servers without realizing that and end up wondering why every single building is burned to the ground. So you'll want to turn off fire spread in other words. More sophisticated measures are the Valhalla anti-griefing mods, which is are well regarded. I'm not a fan of player vs player myself because the game isn't really designed for it (oh hey I spent a month levelling electrical and died in half a second from a single sniper shot, nice) but mine is not the opinion that matters here, yours is.

Sleeping is definitely possible in multiplayer, and fatigue can also be enabled to make it mandatory.
frankly if both of you are sleeping, the time should speed up. If it doesn't, I'd disable it

one hour with a 1 hour day is 2.5 minutes (60/24) real life time. Ridiculously tired takes at least 8 hours of sleep, so that's 20 minutes.

1. Turn off the need for sleep in multiplayer, it's practically impossible to coordinate. You can leave sleep on without it being required in case you want to skip time.

2. You will need to reboot the server for new mods to take affect. This shouldn't cause issues with your current save.

3. Don't run.
Crouch everywhere.
Close doors, windows and curtains behind you.
Look before you leap.
Enable safehouses in the server settings and make sure you set it as your respawn in game.
Undertand that you will die, a lot, often, brutally. Don't be afraid to start over.

The game cannot synchronise multiplayer resting. Everyone has to do it together. You should disable it unless you hate yourself and your friends haha
You can add any mod at any time to a game. New items will not spawn until you load a new area of the map. If you encounter issues with the mod, you may need to reset the world. These are the risk you take lol
Since the game requires restarting worlds every so often i don't really care about the fire spread on my multi player server. I let everyone know upfront once you break it, its gone until the next world :evadebullets: Do disable PvP tho, its broken, bare bones garbage with no timeline to be fixed by the developer. With admin tools you can create custom PvP zones and events if thats your thing but leaving it on is a sure way to guarantee no one ever plays with you. There are a host of serious exploits associated with it that need patching.

me and my wife play multiplayer on a rented server. which gives more options to work with. but basically i would sleep at the same time or have one take sleep tablets to sleep with you. try to get to the same amount of fatigue

.

I've only played solo. If you turn off sleep, do you also turn off traits like Sleepy Head?
Quineloe Aug 18, 2023 @ 2:28am
yes if sleep isn't mandatory all those sleep traits are deactivated in MP.

Even in those cases where sleep is left on in multiplayer, I've found it super glitchy. As in your body temperature will go flying to one extreme or another instantly.

It's worth thinking about item respawn in multiplayer too. Depending on how many people are playing it sort of becomes necessary.

What do you mean by "More options"?
