Project Zomboid

Best Gun Mod?
I'm finally trying to finish my mod list, which gun mod is the best, Vanilla Expanded, Brita, or Firearms B41? I'm also trying to find a crossbow mod, I think I found a good one but it adds Aiming and Reloading book's which I would rather not have.

All three are decent. It will depend on how you want to play the game through for which works best.

I prefer Firearms B41. It adds enough variety that it doesn't feel overwhelming.
Vanilla Expanded is like Firearms B41, not really overpowered and adds some QoL.

Brita's has a gigantic amount of weapons, you'll find it somewhat difficult to find all the components you want at the same time. It can quickly become OP on default settings. On high population? It's almost necessary.

Thanks, right now I'm rocking Vanilla Firearms Expanded as most of my mods are compatible with it and when I tried out Brita it ended up just being way to much for me.

I'd say VFE is pretty good, can't go wrong with it. Also used to use Firearms B41 for a long time, was also pretty good when I combined it with a balance patch.

Firearms B41 for me.
Feels very vanilla, adds enough new toys without just being unnecessarily bloated like Brita.

VFE or B41.
Brita's weapon pack is a huge bloat in my opinion which also kills the joy of finding weapons. The lowest spawn rates there (if you have the patience to tinker with it) feels way higher than zomboid's normal.

Not just for new player, everyone who doesn't want to turn this into cod zombies or a left 4 dead alike.

Given that the game is set in rural Kentucky, Brita is the only realistic mod out there

I would start with B41 or Vanilla Expanded, Brita is great and all but there are so many bullet types and guns that's hard to find enough adequate ammo for one you want to use, theorically you can get more ammo but the type will be way more dispersed, long term it's fun though and all that armor and ghuillie suits are a nice addition

Also, if you are interested in crafting ammo check the snake mod pack, We combine it with firearms b41 to be able to have weapons very late game with no loot respawn

Speaking of Brita's weapon fashion. I wanted to ask this question to the developers of the mod, but they closed the comments again for some reason, so I would like to ask this to the people who use this mod: is it normal that 80% of the automatic weapons found cannot be used, because there are no shop inserted? It's just that I have already accumulated a decent mountain of guns, from which I cannot shoot due to the fact that they spawned without a magazine, and this is simply ridiculous.

its just your luck, police armories and military bases have plenty of mags in them though

B41 is fine on high pops too. I like SMGs so I also use SMG fix for that mod. I pretty much always run out of 9mm for my suppressed MP5 in all my games.

Vanilla firearms expansion with maxwell's silencers is the best if you don't want britas imo.
