I guess I should have added that I have 10 in aiming. Also no panic, I use beta blockers and I'm 4 months in. I will pay closer attention but I haven't noticed any flinching in these scenarios. I typically wait until the zombie is a few feet in front of me to shoot since it seems more reliable to 1 shot that way and it's a big problem when the bullet just phases through them to hit some other zed 20 feet away.
This is my exact issue. It makes no sense when the closest zombie has the green aim highlight. And it often happens for several shots in a row. Very dangerous.

With this mod, you will be able to shoot zombies behind fences and tall fences...
also: its not that im missing them cause ill be hitting unhighlighted zombies behind them
Sounds like you missed them.
I have this issue too, it's weird but maybe we need to aim the cursor closer to the zombie that is at the front.
If you're using Arsenal/Brita's for example, you'll very often hit zombies that aren't even in your drawing distance because their guns have incredibly long max ranges especially at Aiming 10.
Other mods don't handle the MinAngle stat of their guns which can end up with you shooting a zombie way off to your side instead of the one directly in front of you.
Personally I think this one is way better

It gives you the much better gunplay involved with the mod without the drawbacks of now suddenly being able to headshot zombies flawlessly from Aiming Level 1.
It's not without its own drawbacks but it feels a lot more in-line with how the rest of the game works and it keeps guns from just being the best choice outright.
It also has a lot more interplay with the rest of the game's mechanics, namely moodles and whatnot.
I also personally use Guns of '93 as my weapon mod of choice and it statistically seems to be just right in terms of balance, without the bloat of Arsenal Gunfighter + Brita's.
I havent found any satisfying solutions yet. What i do is to edit the range of the gun shorter, and tighten the angle, so there really is no chance for the gun to hit a wrong zombie.
It's mainly a problem because the green outline is not accurate. Thinking you're gonna kill the zed right in front of you and then whiffing completely can easily get you killed.
