It's in a well populated area.
Better leave the town, and hole up in a farmhouse. Even a fortified barn is better.
Yep, Ik it's doable. Yes, ik it's almost perfect defense. (Scks when your fort is covered by zeds on all sides, and you stuck on the roof.) But it's makes the game boring, and destroy immersion. For me.
Regarding windows, you can block them with cars.:)
I still remember when i blocked out the whole fire station in Rosewood...allthough for the fitness room i had to use a deilvery van and took a while to position it well. Sadly not anymore, allthough was a feat alone to find that many cars to block!:P
(Windows are still carblockable though!)
Also if you are surrounded on all sides cuz of zeds, the trick is you should have already built, or gotten enough materials (planks and nails) to build a bridge over to the 2 story houses north and northeast by the station. (And of course preemptively knocked off all stairs!)
The only downside is, that no more fireman zombies will spawn if you occupy the FD, and they tend to have axes.
Of course they will damage any player placed object in their way should you aggro them...
Or cheese it with sheet rope/fence+crate/double sandbag. Currently these things break the path finding
Talking about game exploits, you can still make a "microwave barricade". Still unpassable, invincible, just don't place directly under a window (become passable). *
Or you can build the novadays famous fence-crate-fence combination all around your base. Zeds can't climb over the fence, and don't attack it.
* Works with tvs, and iirc industrial ovens.
There are many ways to make your base invincible fortress.
But as I'm told in my prev post, I'm just don't like to abuse flawed game mechanism.
Instead, I'm try to make zeds way harder. Make a curved bridge leading to the entrance of your base. Zeds usually walking beeline, 99% of the siege army falling on the ground floor. You can make safe shooting spot like this, or you can have your genny on a mostly safe place.
This is ofc abusing zeds stupid pathfinding, but hey... They are zeds. Making dumb traps for them is acceptable. (Make a ring of campfire, place a noisemaker or a radio in the middle and watch the grillparty.)
Nah i know about these, but if you consider it, these are exploits for sure.
But just think about, if you would be able to weld together a few of the cars, get the tires off, so they flatly fall down, you could have a decent undestroyable barricade, especially if you weld a few other things together. But these options are not available:)
So we stay on level 1, and use sheet ropes (since no ladders that you could pull up with ya, once you climbed up:D).
I still remember i watched one of the WD episodes, where random guy A and one main char(who died later) had two options to escape...one was to go to high ground, the other to just run down the street. Of course they choose the run option and got into a dead end...:D Was already playing PZ that time (yeah i dont follow it weekly, just every now and then i watch an episode and advance in the story because it is soo stupid and repetitve most of the time) and was soooo disappointed and mad, how the so called experienced survivor just made the wrong call so naturally:)
Before the sheet rope nerf, it was a very easy base to use because of the second floor.
