Build 43 shouldnt be about NPC's
they should focus more on redoing or completing the Survival Mechanics, because in this state a signle build isnt enough to turn this game NPC ready.

Complete how? What aren’t you happy with the current survival mechanics?

Imo the game gives us no real goal other than survive or self made goals and I would rather see what they do with the NPCs that make the game feel more worth while. I think the survival mechanics are good for right now

I gotta agree with the devs on this one and besides it’ll be a long time before we see any big updates so might as well wait for npcs rather than oh look there are animals and hunting now…

Hi Michael, I am curious do you have any programming or coding experience? If you have some good ideas I am sure the devs would be willing to hear you out ~ Brad

Even if he did it would take months to train him and for him to understand how THEY programmed it…. It’s not a simple WELCOME TO THE TEAM NOW GET TO WORK… takes months of training
NPC's are necessary and they know it which is why it's going to be the priority once multiplayer has been stabilized.
Good point, you can probably tell that I know absolutely nothing about either field haha

My main problem is not with the Mechanics themselves, it is with the alck of polish they have.

for an example the farming mechanic is a bit OP as crops never die, I think they should work on a system so that your crops can die because of terrible conditions so that farming doesnt turn into a brain dead click and waith simulator.

what I am saying is there is alot more polish required before the addition of NPC's and I dont think they can fit it all into a signle build, maybe build 44 but not 43. I think human NPC's should be the last thing on the lsit, after all the mechanics are overhauled or completed

but if the game is not polished enough and some of the mechanics are broken than it wont be any fun having those NPC's
A lot of ideas are implementable via mod! If you have ideas you think should be actioned upon, it'd be cool to see more people get involved in modding.
You know 'Early Access' isn't a genre right?

It's not like they're going to stop balancing the game's mechanics after Build 42. Also, nobody can say for sure if a single build wouldn't be enough to rebalance the game's systems.
You guys really need to read the full article where they lay out the current plan. NPCs are being released in 3 phases overtime and being worked on by a separate team from the ones that will be polishing and working on other aspects of the game. The game also has a dedicated team working on just getting multiplayer improved.

They mentioned traits/occupations and gunplay as being some things they plan to work on.

Except build 42 is going to expand on survival. I'm gonna guess you didn't actually read the devlog, so you have no idea how 42 is going to expand upon what's already there.

Besides, they have also stated that NPC implementation won't end at b43, but rather spread out across multiple builds. This would be the case anyway, but they're adding human NPCs sooner rather than later cuz the tech included witih wildlife would've allowed modders to implement NPCs before the devs could.

It's all in the devlog.

As the posters above me said, NPCs are going to be the priority, but that doesn't mean they're not planning other updates meant to polish up existing parts of the game at the same time. They've got a good plan to utilize several teams in order to move the game forward while cleaning it up at the same time.

How the hell is that more of a priority than adding in a feature that has been long over do for years? Not to mention if you bothered to read dev updates they have multiple teams and only one of them is working on npc implementation. Adding in npc's in no way affects the damn farming.
