Why I can't open closed doors with a crowbar?

Honestly. With this game? There's probably a mod for that. I'm not joking. There are mods for everything. It's absurd, but in a good way

Yeah well having obvious oversights fixed by mods was fine before multiplayer though. With multiplayer polish is necessary.

I believe the game is made by all British/EU folk so I dunno if they understand how crowbars work or other stuff in the game that work differently than they should. I'm sure people have noticed quite a few things that were weird if you're an american playing this..

Like how knives have become crap since the animation update? Like have the devs even watched TWD and how easy it is to stab a zombie or 2 in the heads quickly?

Gordon Ramsey would also be disappointed with the cooking recipes and how you can use ingredients lol
I wanna put roaches in my rice or stews ffs or add anything I want for desired effects in a pot rather than just specified recipes.

My comment can actually be a thread by itself but.. I just felt like pointing a few things out of the many I'd explain... I'm sure these points were just missed because they either werent aware of their uses or maybe sure they couldnt put them in the game? Oh well.

The British have crowbars.

Also, fill a cooking pot with water then voila. You can put whatever crap you want in it and stew it. You can also do the same with a frying pan. I've never followed a specific cooking recipe once in this game.

Yes but you cant add ingredients or "toppings" after the fact when it cooks....

and if the brits have crowbars then why cant we use them to pry open anything? Why force players to find a sledge?

I was on a server a bit after the MP patch and a player was hogging all the sledges he found and holding them against others that needed them to progress and this is on a PVE server lol...

Crowbars can be a cheaper and slower option and louder option(but sledges would make more noise? heh) to open containers and locked doors or metal doors..

Agreed as a new player most tools make logical sense in how they are used. I found it odd crowbars could not be used for building entry. It stood out as an outlier as most tools function as you'd imagine they would logically.

old ass thread but use common sense mod; genuinely is amazing. only issue is you can't pry car doors open
Quineloe Nov 5, 2023 @ 1:49am
because that's just not something people do. Prying the door open will damage the car much more than just smashing the window and unlocking it on the inside.

You most certainly can. But you have to use the radial menu
Xero_Daxter Nov 6, 2023 @ 9:58am
Kinda silly that you can’t. If you wanna open doors then a screwdriver will do the trick. Even if you’re feeling a bit feisty you can use an axe.
Cryptic Nov 6, 2023 @ 1:25pm
get the common sense mod.
AnAngryYeti Nov 6, 2023 @ 2:16pm
The Common Sense mod does this and a few other changes

Crow bars are one of the best ways to open doors actually. But you have to hit the doors with them. Reason is their high durability and high damage vs doors.
