Transferring my "SOLO" map + character to my (dedicated) server HELP!!!
ALRIGHT so I'm starting to get frustrated... I thought this would be a simple copy + paste of the singleplayer save folders into the multiplayer folder and then renaming them (servertest and servertest_player by default). Tried that, didn't work. Then I tried copying and replacing only the files which were present in the "servertest" folder... didn't work. Been messing around with exactly which files control what aspects of the save in a singleplayer copy of the world then trying to deduce how that relates to the way it works in multiplayer server and server_player savefiles for hours. No luck. Doesn't help that there's little to no info on this on forums anywhere (at least as of patch 41.60). I know it was possible to use your character even servers which weren't your own back in the day and I want to know if it is at all possible to port saves as well as my character into my server while preserving all of the inventory/player, vehicle, and map data.

I don't think that a feature would exist for transferring characters/maps. At least not anymore.

Think the map is saved by chunks and coordinates, you can probably get the coordinates and files for your base and such, rather than the entire map.. unless they changed all that with build 41.

Right, right. I should have mentioned that you can in fact copy your map files and your base will be intact in terms of buildings in your world. However, as far as I've tested there's no way which I've found to preserve item data which means all of the loot you've accumulated in single player is gone.

Again, as far as I've tested.

Maps you sort of can transfer it seems like (minus items, vehicles, and it seems player data at least).
I should've also mentioned that I haven't done thorough enough testing to conclude whether or not you could transfer the rest of the map as well as the chunks your base is located in. Though, I'm fairly certain it is the case.

And again, I can't seem to pinpoint which files are used in the multiplayer version of the game so that a transfer of singleplayer files would work. I've also tried leaving the serverid file in newly created characters on dedicated and hosted version servers as I figured that that file, which is unique to multiplayer characters, would be like a passcode for said character file to use when it communicates with the server to authenticates. No luck so far as I continue to get a failed authentication of players in the dedicated server cmd. So, I'm going to try renaming the newly created multiplayer character to the singleplayer character and see if that does anything for authentication.

You can't do this. There's no way to transfer a character/loot from a singleplayer game to a multiplayer game. However, if you try to transfer the map and itens/world from a "hosted" multiplayer game to a multiplayer game in dedicated server you will find all the loot and buildings just where/the way you left them. It seens you need an extra effort to restore your character though. I've been trying to do this for a while without sucess.
