Bite should have 90% infection chance
There really isn't any point to keep playing if you got bitten.

That there's any chance is a lot more than most zombie games out there. I think it's fine the way it is (and also a fresher take from the usual zombie lore, where that part has gone unchanged for ages), and if you get bitten it usually means you got scratched anyway, so it's usually very likely that you won't make it.

Going to give that a big no. If you get bit, go out on a zombie killing rampage.

i'm fine with how it is currently, though i wish there was an option to halve ALL infection rates of different wounds so i can casually play coop with a less masochistic player than i who gets injured pretty often.

options are never a bad thing

Frustrating.... no pain no game

I find guns are kinda useless for the most part and getting bit isn't worth continuing.

Add 2 and 2 together and you get the fun of blasting a hundred zombies with a shotgun before dying. Might aswell go out with a blaze of glory.
To anwser OP - no, bite in Romero's lore bit = death and game is based on his lore.

There is no chance to survive a bite. Devs confirmed a while ago that bites are 100% chance of infection as it should be.

This. In most zombie lore bites are fatal and therefore it is here too.

If you enable chopper event to come every now and then you will learn to appriciate guns.
when in the middle of nowhere the chopper brings to your base a thousand zeds...because it can? (Hovered for over 8 hours over my base)
Guns can help you to thin out the new neighbours, at least to the level where you can dispose of the remaining one or two hundred via melee.(Also the gun will make sure you can be sure that your place returned to be the middle of nowhere haven it used to be.)

A bite absolutely should result in a 100% chance of infection, as is currently the case. It's an open wound caused by the saliva-covered teeth of an infected creature, so of course the virus would be passed on immediately.

Besides, we don't need more risk removed from what is supposed to be a tough survival game. The reason we can continue playing in an established world with a new character is because we are supposed to die. If you're regularly finding yourself in a position where you're getting bitten by zombies, then you're not playing very well. Learn to use stealth and back away when the risk is too high, instead of steaming into a horde with a bread knife and expecting to come out unscathed.

I think its great, you finally are able to succumb to your wounds and go on a rampage until your death.

You can download sandbox+ mod from the workshop, there you can set the exact % of infection chance you want.

turn it down as in... decrease the %? Never found the option. The only alternative is as Chairman said to turn it off completely.
