Can't use fireplace to warm up the house?
I saw that I was cold when I was about to go to sleep, so I lit the fireplace (giving me +30 degrees celsius) but it did not warm up the house at all. The bedroom is right above to fireplace btw. So I need to sleep right next to the heat source to stay warm?

If it were a small home with a mostly open floor plan and a bit of a draft via a cracked window or something somewhere, it might work. But you'd have to keep that thing burning pretty hot to do it. And it's not going to heat a multistory home.

And power is most certainly NOT free in the USA. The closest to free you'll get is your own personal solar grid, or if you found a spot that lets you chop/forage for wood. Which, by the way, you can. A lot of wooded areas have programs where you can collect dead wood and the like for firewood.

hence the "modern" part. The house I grew up in was built in 1970 and its fire-based oven heated up three different rooms easily.
Do explain how that was done without a ventilation system. Because the science does not match up to your claim.
where did I say that?

The antique oven, the built in hearths and the fireplace all heat up only the same level part, and in about a certain radius.

What most folks due, is place their antique oven on the second floor, where they knock out one or two walls, extend the floor there, to make a garden. And move a bed/or use an existing bed nearby so they do not freeze during the winter. (Allthough with certain traits like outdoorsman you can be a bit more tolerant towards cold)

It's an interview on Phoenix. Why are you promoting fake news?

Electricity in e.g. Texas is like 8 cents per kw/h. How much are you paying in Berlin?

Sorry bud, but you're the one promoting fake news. As someone that lives in the Midwest US, power is most definitely NOT free. And you just proved yourself wrong by admitting the costs.

not that I actually want to engage in any form of discussion with you; I merely wanted to know what you meant with "energy is free", but the way you reply and jump to conclusions I have nothing left to say except:

"you're right, have fun!"

"Power is free."

"Here's the electricity rates in Texas, which does cost money"

It's like they're arguing with themself.

Talks about running away and then runs away. I've noticed this guy makes a lot of random assumptions and conclusions about other cultures and those people. Nothing egregious but just really odd stuff like this power thing.

Not just that.
He also uses a deregatory term.

Yeah, I've noticed he's generally hostile, particularly when proven incorrect about something (like the power thing). And will call others toxic for calling him out in his shenanigans
